I think it's a HUGE stretch to say that Scott has more heart and drive than any other team in the state. How can you possibly say that? You have absolutely no idea. I'm not taking anything away from them, I agree, they've played well and have worked hard. But that's just an impossible comment to make. I wouldn't even say that they have more heart and drive than any other team in NKY or more than SK for that matter, you could never truly know. :mad:

If you weren't trying to denote it then why would you call it a girl screen? You could have said that Ponzer caught an elbow to the face because the man's elbows were up high, and I've seen a fair amount of players pick with their hands up and their elbows flared out because it gives them a wider base up top to make contact with a player from the other team. It is not the traditional way to setting a pick, but I have seen it done before. Calling it a girl screen is a means of describing it sure, but it also has the effect of lessening the value of the play.

If a screen leveled someone (from what I understand that is what happened) then it cannot be called a "girl" screen. If you must call it a "girl" screen you must realize that it knocked a man down and what does that say about the one getting screened? Also you calling it legal screen denotes the fact that the elbow was dirty because if it was dirty then it would not be legal. Basically don't try to denote something by calling it "girly."

I'm not one for excuses. But Simon Kenton still had a chance to win, at Shelby, without a starter and their sixth man, without a healthy Hester (don't tell me he's at full strength, he had 1 point against Ryle, you should know better), and with Hurd having a bad night. Shelby won last night and they deserve the 'W', but I wouldn't say they're the team to beat yet.

Hester was not himself. Hester at full strength changes the whole game. He's taking it a little easy on his foot, but with time he'll be fine.

The subject is Scott vs. Simon Kenton. I'm asking for you prediction. Unless, somehow, Shelby's big man has something to do with this. :confused:

SK isn't looking two weeks ahead, I'm sure Steiner has the kids focused. However, I am looking two weeks ahead. My thinking about this, will not affect the out come against Shelby I'm sure.

Mike Hester is one tough hombre. That kid sacrifices his body more than anyone I know. Its amazing he isn't injured more than he is. Heck he played half the year with a broken foot.

I'd like to see Quigley back in time for this game. He played well in the first one. It's no fun if both teams aren't at full strength. A lot of bragging rights in this one. Although, SK has the advantage 1-0. It'll be interesting to see how Baker fits in with an already tough Scott squad.

This game is still awhile away, and I realize that Simon Kenton has 2 games until next Friday, including a big one against Shelby County, but it's one of the biggest rivalries in Northern Kentucky. So I thought I'd start it early. Last time they played at Scott, SK won on a last second put back by Eric Hopkins. Let's hope this game can be just as exciting. This game always seems to bring out the best in the teams, coaches, and the fans. It is also senior night at Simon Kenton, the last home game for Elbert, Hurd, Hopkins, and Hester. Any thoughts or predictions? I'll take SK by 2.

I can respect saying that you believe he is the best player in the 8th, but saying "by far the best player in the 8th region", is BY FAR an over statement. Hester is a great player. Neeley may or may not be better, but if he his, he isn't by much. Have you seen Hester or Hurd play? - Not saying you haven't, just wondering.

I'm not sure if I agree with this. If he's cleared to play, then he's cleared. If he hurts himself because he plays a bunch of mintues tonight, then he obviously wasn't ready to play anyway, and would've just gotten hurt against Shelby. And I'd like to see him get a little PT before the big game against Shelby anyway, he could use a little action to get him going. My guess would be, he sits when the starters sit, which might be mid 3rd quarter.

You sound like you hate any "star" player. Patterson probably should have gotten the ball more. Why do you have such a grudge against him, you hardly even refer to him by his name, you just call him "cry baby". Maybe he should've been a little more mature talking to the press, and maybe you should be talking to your fellow BGPers.

I partially agree with both of you. But I think even though rankings are just opinions, if there are no facts to back up your opinion, you might as well pick teams out of a hat.

I don't know how Kentucky stacks up with other states in talent. It obviously doesn't compete with California, Florida, Texas, or New York. No knock on the state, because I live here, but there were only between 10-15 D1 players listed. Where are all the other Division 1 freshman coming from? Because 15 players isn't even 1% of the Division 1 freshman recruits every year. Ya know? :confused:

Pelle is one of the best players in the state. Nathan Sharp is solid, but he should be your 6th.
