Final

Surprised this one was close.

You think maybe SK was looking ahead to friday? High scoring game, who put up numbers.

I thought CC couldn't score. Sounds like a great game, anyone have any details.

Hurd didn't dress/play due to an injured shoulder. Elbert finished with 23 after 19 in the first half; Hester knocked down about 5 3's if I counted right and had 19. SK fell behind by a point with about a minute to go and Zach Layne scored 6 straight points, including a 4 point play to give SK back the lead. Layne was announced with 17 but it seemed like more. Shows you how much he was missed in the Shelby game.

Was this an overtime game, or just no "D"?? Campbell seldom seems to score this much. Congrats to SK on the win, and to Campbell for keeping it close and almost pulling the upset on the 8th's #1 team. 10th region looking pretty strong, and deeper than many think!!

Wasnt there but from what I heard it wasnt an overtime game just a lot of good shooting and Hester seemed to play a ton better in this game. Bad news about Hurd. Didnt even know he was hurt.

It'll be nice to see SK's projected lineup on the court at the same time, they seem to be missing someone every game.

Campbell Co shot 33 0f 53 (62%) from the field with Jon Verst leading the scoring with 22, Petey Albrecht with 19 and Pat Nerl with 18. Camels pushed the ball up the court and played a much more up tempo offense. Still lacking in defense giving Simon Kenton many open and easy shots. Turnovers hurt the Camels again giving Simon Kenton at least 12 points off of turnovers. Stupid mistakes by the Camels at the end of the first half gave Simon Kenton the lead 47-43. Camels outscored them 41-40 in the second. Very physical game played by the Simon Kenton, jersey holding, elbows, handchecking etc. Refs let them play. Great screen set by Albrecht on Ponzer, not sure he knew what he ran into! (Legal screen, I might add) Camels are getting better.

Not sure you can say SK is the best in the 8th since Shelby beat them last week. They are definitely a top 3 team in the 8th if they are not the top dog though.

I know that's probably up for discussion, but was going with the concensus from another thread concerning the 8th region? I think they probably deserve to be considered the #1 seed and I'm sure most thought they would beat Campbell handily, but credit the Camels for going basket to basket with them!!

Great game for our Camels. I continue to like the improvement I see. I thought we really played well last night.

Legal, yes, but it was a girl screen (by that I mean he covered his chest with his arms instead of a lower region of his body). He caught Ponzer with an elbow to the side of his head.

It was good physical defense at times, if they weren't going to call the pushoffs then they can't call the handchecks. For the most part though, there was absolutely no defense, both teams had many uncontested shots.

If a screen leveled someone (from what I understand that is what happened) then it cannot be called a "girl" screen. If you must call it a "girl" screen you must realize that it knocked a man down and what does that say about the one getting screened? Also you calling it legal screen denotes the fact that the elbow was dirty because if it was dirty then it would not be legal. Basically don't try to denote something by calling it "girly."

I wasn't calling it girly, and if you knew something about basketball you would realize what I meant. I was explaining why the kid that was screened was out of it. A girl screen is when you cover your chest(delicate area on females). A boy screen is when you cover your lower region(delicate area on a male). Basically don't try to denote a post when you don't know what you're talking about. The kid ran into an elbow, it was legal because the screener was planted and not moving.
