  1. I didnt know about Ben Pumphrey - thanks for the enlightenment! So I guess I should be insulted? Or maybe it was a compliment...but I am being sincere and you guys will see Friday evening as to where we are with inexperienced QBs...The LCA offense has been outscored by our Defense/Special Teams so far this year! So I wasnt really trying to "Ben Pumphrey" anyone in my posts...honest injun! BUT I am still driving almost 2 hours(one way) to cheer for those LCA Eagles and I hope we win the game and I can come on this thread and reveal myself as the "nephew" of Ben Pumphrey!
  2. Gotcha! I just didnt know if you had some "insider" information... You are right - it is great to see Bath Co turning up their competitiveness this year! Looks like their coach has things heading the right way!
  3. Coach - let us know any details so we can get this on the COACH's PRAYER LIST that Lexington Christian Academy Head Coach Paul Rains runs on the LIST SERVE - this is an awesome ministry to let Coaches support each other through PRAYER - sometimes that is the ONLY thing we can do for each other - but it is the MOST important thing we can do! There are a BUNCH of coaches who support each other over the List Serve and Email listing which Coach Rains and FCA have in place... Remember, if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. My prayers are for God's wisdom and discernment for you to direct those kids in the way God wants to use you in this situation. In His name, EagleEye
  4. Do you think Bath is really UP that much this year OR is it that Fairview is really DOWN this year? I didnt think Bath has really played anyone yet this year to post those 3 W's - those 3 teams have ZERO wins combined so far - which implies Bath's competition is REALLY weak so far...whereas Fairview is 2-2 against teams posting a 5-9 overall record... Also, these 2 teams have one common opponent in Lewis Co and FV beat them 38-0 where Bath beat Lewis 2 weeks earlier 21-0... This was part of my logic and reasoning or posting the score with Fairview on top...
  5. Man! You guys are tough! You guys are giving LCA alot more credit than we really deserve in this game...but I hope you are right - and it IS a close game. I am being sincere in our lack of experience at QB - we may even be starting the Freshman, Witt (#7) in this game because he really did a better job last week at Corbin...either way - we will be young and inexperienced at QB with a Sophomore or a Frosh. I hope OldRambler is healthy enough to go to the game - It is always fun to meet the people on these threads because we ALL live by the same motto - "The OLDER I get...The BETTER I WAS!" And we really like the sports for the comraderie and for the friendships developed from being around those sports. Good luck to both teams!
  6. Bob and his staff and LexCath administration have been there for Lexington Christian since we started the program...They knew what we would be and were and were going to be going through and helped us accelerate our programs maturity. We miss Bob, but the seeds he planted with LC & LCA have continued to develop fruit and our two programs still work together with our Youth football leagues to this day. I am glad, but not surprised at Coach Sphire's success!
  7. Sorry guys...been on business trip in NYC since Saturday! Got to watch those Buckeyes win from NewYorkCity! Here's my prognostication for this game: Raceland 31 LCA 14 LCA's QB's are too young and nobody knows what Offense will show up. And...the RAMS are too mature and strong this year for LCA's inexperience... Should be a very good 1st half but the Rams strength, maturity and depth will take over in the 2nd half.
  8. Congrats to the Rams! LCA has alot of work to do to compete with the RAMS next week! Yikes!
  9. This game was won, as always, by the great control of the line of scrimmage! Corbin's linemen, on both sides of the ball did a great job. Sanders carried the ball 30 times to be exact! He was a load and looked terrific! LCA did get some questionable calls on big plays...but that is not to take anything away from Corbin's performance on the field. LCA has some QB issues with the Sophomore making poor decisions and even worse execution. THe Freshman, Witt #7 did a pretty decent job coming in the 2nd half and actually moving the ball and making decent decisions. LCA needed to give the ball to FReshman, Hayden #30 more - he had 6 carries for 120 yds!
  10. However, I think Boyle County will be hungry enough to pull this one out ... BC - 28 Laf - 21
  11. I am taking the liberty to change my prediction based upon a key 2-way starter not being able to play due to an injury from last weeks CAL game... Corbin wins it 28-14 over LCA...and dont ask me for WHO - cuz I aint releasin' that much data! http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/ubb/jump.gif :jump:
  12. BG - well stated! I was not trying to put them down - KHSAA decides where schools are placed as far as divisions go - all schoold go where they are told - unless they want to move UP. MC is a VERY GOOD team with great coaches and athletes...I look for them to be playing in the PizzaBox in the late Fall!
  13. "Merciless" County will win this in a landslide 64-14... They are a 5A team playing in a 2A division...but next year, they will get to play teams their own true "size"... They are fun to watch though!
  14. I apologize for going astray to other's on this thread. This RIVALRY game should be a dandy! It seems like every one is healthy and eligible for the game tonight, right? My other question is...can either teams SPECIAL TEAMS play be the difference in who wins/loses this game?
  15. I'd just like to see someone from OUR DISTRICT come out of the REGION to represent us instead of the NKY teams doing it every year! I'd prefer it to be LCA, but if not us then ONE of US! Its kind of like rooting for the BIG 10 teams, unless they play OhioState...I EVEN root for "that team up North" in Bowl Games and during the regular season just so that the OSU-"team from up North" game is even more meaningful! As things look at this moment in time, our District's best shot is currently Raceland - hopefully that will change to LCA after next week's game...but until then...
  16. OldRambler & Cvillecat, I am just voicing my opinion based upon everything I have read, seen and heard so far in this YOUNG season... I believe Coach Vanderhoof has those boys focused on one game at a time - which is EXACTLY what they need to do and WILL do! RACELAND is the team to beat in the DISTRICT so far - look at those polls - I am not the only one who thinks this... I am happy that Bath Co & Paris are finally showing some life in our District as well! It has really been no value to play Berea or Bath Co the past 3 years - no disrespect to those coaches or players - but it truly has been no contest by the 1st Quarter and that does nothing for either team - thus the Mercy Clock Rule was deployed...
  17. I think this is the year of the RAM...they should go undefeated in the District and have a great shot at getting through the dis-oriented NKY teams this year to State... Raceland over GC 28-17.
  18. Thanks! LCA - 21 Corbin - 20 I think this will be a very good defensive battle - both teams seem to have speed and fundamentals on the defensive side of the ball and both Offfenses are fairly in-experienced and struggling a little...should be a tight game...
  19. that is because of the FEEDER SYSTEM that has been developed starting with FLAG FOOTBALL at 1st-4th and then 8-man Full-contact at 5th-6th and finally with a solid Jr High program with a 7th and an 8th grade team... Grass roots system that keeps those younger kids off of the Soccer fields and on the FOOTBALL fields!
  20. EagleEye showed up to "eat his crow"! Also, I was at the game and I was surprised to hear the NCC fans cheer when Highlands score was announced - no mistake - I was directly beside them and I made a comment to people sitting around us that I was surprised NKY fans didnt stick together.
