Seems like an unusually high number of coaching openings available. Where are they? Who is rumored to be filling them?

Brian Wright leaving Western High School was announced in C-J today. Bill Mason's official announcement also. A few more rumored in Jefferson County to be announced probably after the State Finals.

One job that is not opening up is Manual.

Nichols is adamant that he is not leaving and that the rumors about him taking the head coaching job at Butler and Fern Creek are untrue, as well as any other rumors of him leaving.

Nelson Co. is open

Rowan County might be? I'm not sure yet though the head coach there decided to take them out of district play to win games and went 1-9, 4-6, 5-5; So, I'm hearing he's gone.

Coach Runyon is haning it up after just one year? :confused:

I think Preston has done a good job at Rowan, they need to keep him for another year or two.

From what I understand, the coach is still coaching basketball and it makes it very tough to coach those two sports back to back. A football coach doesn't have much time for family once the playoffs hit, imagine having to fit a basketball practice in too.

 

While he did a GREAT job this year, we need to realize that coaching can take a toll on a person. Especially coaching two top sports like that.

I was wrong, just a run-away rumor, thier coach is not going anywhere as far as I know. Sorry.
