OK, I'll start the thread on this contest.

 

Here are some initial thoughts.

 

LCA's defense is good this year; as good, if not better that last year's. But I don't see any defense shutting down Raceland this year. Soooo...

 

LCA will have to put up points (a lot) on Raceland. Last year that was not a problem, but this year it may be. We have a good line (lost only 1 to graduation), a good receiving corps and a JEWEL in freshman RB Hayden. As I said before, our young, inexperienced QB is the wildcard; and I don't know what to expect.

 

If the QB shows a lot of poise for a younster, then LCA will have a decent chance. If not, it will be a long night for the Eagles.

LCA has a good ball team. Very disciplined and very classy. If they keep the ball in Haydens hands they should be allright. He is a load of a freshman.

I look for the rams to bounce back after a scrappy win last week against Greenup. I feel like the Rams might have overlooked G.C.. However, there will be no overlooking of LCA. The Rams know this is going to be a BATTLE! With both teams running VERY similiar offenses this one could get very interesting. The Rams defense is much improved from last year and despite a "bad" game last week at G.C. the offense is still as high powered as ever. I look for the Rams "D" to play big this friday and put alot of pressure on the young QB from LCA. Im going to go with the Rams. Defense wins championships, but a little offense doesnt hurt either.

Now, having said that you and I know that LCA has had our number for quite a few years and have had some great football teams with very physical & talented football players. I expect the same for this game from your Eagles.

It should be a great game. I have not heard if Boyles is feeling better. I know we have a linemen that is hurting. He will see the doctor first thing tommorow. Hopefully they will all be healthy and ready to go

That was going to be one of my questions, what if any injuries do the Rams have going in to this one. I didn't hear of anything serious at all.

Everyone here in RamLand knows full well what LCA will be bringing into this one. A well coached, talented team that have owned our Rams the last few years. Raceland Defense and Special teams will HAVE to keep up the intensity they have shown all year and I hope that the Rams can come back from a sub par offensive perfomance last week. I think that we can. This team is talented. I will say the same as I have all season, stay focused - practice hard - and leave it all out on the field Friday night vs. the Eagles. I have also said all year that imo this game will be a critical point in the season for Raceland. A "W" in this one and it could propel us into a special season. A "L" and we are 0-1 in the district and have an uphill climb. I still am going to keep to my policy of not making predictions on Raceland games, we are 4-0 and it has worked so far. Just a superstition of mine. Lets Go Rams and our "Orange Crush" defense!!!:flame:

Raceland looks for real this year. Stump of the toe last week might be what they needed. LCA looks down this year and this could be the year for the Rams. :fire: :fire: :fire:

I think the Greenup game was a good reality check for the Rams. I don't think the Eagles are what they were last year. I'll take Raceland by a couple of scores in this one!

First I will say Raceland is good this year. But at the same time I watched the Ashland game and they beat themselves. Ashland didn't get the ball to Thomas enough and they fumbled on the Raceland 5, fumbled on their own 15, had a TD called back, and Raceland's #3 returned a punt for TD. East Carter is terrible, and Rowan isn't very good either. I will say this will be a close game that can go either way depending on LCA's defense and if their offense turns the ball over alot.

Raceland will need for defense to stay strong and they will need to stay with the run more. Get more carries for Denton,Carver, and Beech. The passing game has done nothing against the 2 good teams that Raceland has played.

LCA will have a confidence factor since they have owned the series of late, but being at home will make the difference in a close game, look for special teams to be a deciding factor,,,,again!!!
