Thanks for the update and the info on the JV game. I had a person tell me that Piercy looked very good along with Raceland's fine sophomore's. I heard that the coaches "called off the dogs" so to speak and could had won by a lot more. With all of the young talent that is in place now at Raceland it looks like we will be a force for a few years and beyond.:thumb:

Piercy ran extremely well. He looks like he will be a good one. He scored three TD's and had another called back. He made some nice receptions also and Mckee looked good, the WR had some drops but overall the young Rams showed a lot of promise. Let's not forget the hard work of the lineman, they blocked well all night to enable the backs to get their yards.

We are all glad he is partial to the lineman and the linebackers. Sometimes reading the paper you would never no they exsist. Glory goes to whoever has the ball. This has been a different year for them getting to hear about the Orange Crush or how the defense Rammed them. Good for you guys.

Nothing like seeing a great block by a lineman. I am partial and can relate to what they go through. They work their tails off everyday and very seldom get any ink. They do however, get noticed by the college scouts as they realize what a necessity a good lineman is. It all begins at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. I always make it a priority to let the guys up front know they are appreciated.

You are correct oldram!! This years Raceland bunch is all about the team. These guys are like family and that is a big part of their success this season. The kids believe in each other and accepted what the coaching staff has placed in front of them.They each have a role and understand it's importance. If they continue to stay focused and believe in their cause, it could be a special year In "Ram Country"!!

One thing to remember about a couple of those O lineman. They were asked this year to move from the high profile running back positions to the line after we graduate so many seniors last year. They agreed for the good of the team.

:thumb: You are correct TGF, that kind of sacrifice is what makes a bunch of football players a TEAM. These kids are all about Team and the Ram Football Family!

LCA's QB's are too young and nobody knows what Offense will show up.

 

And...the RAMS are too mature and strong this year for LCA's inexperience...

 

Should be a very good 1st half but the Rams strength, maturity and depth will take over in the 2nd half.

Actualy, I think the players themselves went to the coaching staff & requested the change. Like you guys said it was all Team that they thought about and that says a lot about the character of the kids involved.

I was waiting on the statement that all week long that parents of LCA players were begging the coach and school not to even go to Raceland - they didn't want their little boys hurt by that powerful Rams!:lol: :fire: Remember that one? Just kidding Eagle Eye but we here in RamLand know what a tough game that we are in for. Have a safe trip to and back home from Raceland. That is all the luck besides I hope that both teams stay injury free that I can wish LCA right now. GO RAMS!!!

You guys are giving LCA alot more credit than we really deserve in this game...but I hope you are right - and it IS a close game.

 

I am being sincere in our lack of experience at QB - we may even be starting the Freshman, Witt (#7) in this game because he really did a better job last week at Corbin...either way - we will be young and inexperienced at QB with a Sophomore or a Frosh.

 

I hope OldRambler is healthy enough to go to the game - It is always fun to meet the people on these threads because we ALL live by the same motto -

"The OLDER I get...The BETTER I WAS!"

 

And we really like the sports for the comraderie and for the friendships developed from being around those sports.

Amen to that one EE. :laugh: :laugh: I am going to try and make it, with my condition I really ever know untill that day and/or time. I don't know if you were familiar with Ben Pumphrey (former Nich. Co. coach) or not. He was a great coach and even finer man but he was also the best .....lets say "fertilizer saleman" in the state of Ky.:lol: Every year we Raceland people looked foward to what he would put in the local paper here, it was always entertaining. That was why the references to him were made by cville and myself.
