Class 1A KY AP poll 10/24/06
Frankfort beat Danville head-to-head. LCA beat Raceland head-to-head. Others in this list? Doesnt make a lot of sense to me...but it IS just a poll and after this weekend...every team is in FIRST PLACE that makes the playoffs. :dancingpa

Paris vs. Raceland / Thoughts and Predictions

Playing 2 Weeks in a Row
Statman...THAT is actually some GOOD motivation!:thumb: It is strange how these things are playing out across the state though...this was a good thread topic! Even more difficult is the task of playing the SAME team two weeks in a row. COACHING becomes a HUGE factor in that situation - dont you think?

Playing 2 Weeks in a Row
In 1A, District 6, PARIS & RACELAND play this week to end the regular season and will then turn around next week and play each other again in the 1st round of the play-offs.

How far can this Raceland team go?
UK - you can call it it what you want...even the Raceland fans who are my friends agreed it was an embarrassment the way that set of officials called that game - I agree everyone has bad days and I really dont believe they performed poorly on purpose - but it sure "felt" that way we you're out of town and the emotions of a big game come into play. I was just being honest about my feelings - and heck - we won anyway! :thumb:

How far can this Raceland team go?
Ok fellas - I can only take so much of this without finally intervening with some facts - LCA won that game by a whole lot larger margin than that score showed...I really hope there IS a 2nd round match-up between LCA & Raceland so the score can be confirmed. There was a reason Raceland had a "bad day" that day - it is called LCA's team speed on Defense - plain & simple. I also hope the next game between these two teams has better ref's as well - because that element went "against" LCA which is one of the major reasons the score was not representative of teh actual game. Again, JMO - not trying to be dis-respectful to any Ram fans - just stating what I observed - and I do NOT have a son on LCA's team either - so it is not as biased as people might think. Good luck to the Rams... and to answer this threads question - The Rams will get to the 2nd round of the playoffs! :sssh:

Paris vs. Raceland / Thoughts and Predictions
KF11 - this is WHY I see it the way I called it...I agree with you on this. It seems like there may be some slightly over-rated players on Paris' line area in my opinion, but ya can't coach SIZE! So many colleges will take the chance that they CAN help kids with size get good enough to make a contribution to a D-1 school. Especially as athletic as some of those prospective Paris linemen are...they just need some direction and encouragement in the right areas and they can help some D-1 schools - they all seem like good kids to me.

Paris vs. Raceland / Thoughts and Predictions
Raceland 34 Paris 21 Should be close the first half and then Raceland coaching kicks it in at halftime and makes better adjustments than Paris' staff...no disrespect to Paris staff intended - Just My Opinion of what will occur.

Raceland 40 Fairview 0
Congatulations to Raceland Rams! Looks like the collision course has been established for the 2nd round re-match with LCA potentially...

KHSAA District Championship Question
guys...th e OFFICIAL interpretation is this...(straight from KHSAA - Julian Tackett): 1. 2nd round playoff winner is THE DISTRICT CHAMPION 2. DISTRICT games ONLY decide 1st round playoff seedings any questions? seriously, this is the RULE for 2006! MANY coaches were as surprised by all of this as all of us are right now!

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments for 2006
First of all... TigerDude13 - great topic to introduce to this forum! I think LCA is a huge surprise to me and I am an LCA fan! They lost ALL key personnel and yet are 5-0 in District play...(yes I am biased) 7-2 overall with losses to Mercer County and Corbin. I also am surprised(impressed) at Cov Holy Cross performance to date. Disappointments are Dunbar and Berea to me...again I can only respond to teams I am familiar with in the Central KY region. I would really like to see Berea come out of their funk soon. Those kids do play hard and it is VERY difficult to maintain thoughout the season.

Pigman - I agree with you on that...there appears to be alot of technique and desire missing from some of the players...You CAN coach technique but SIZE & DESIRE are tougher to coach! :thumb:

Raceland vs. Fairview / thoughts and predictions
Raceland will take this one running away... Raceland 42 Fairview 14

Lexington Christian 56 Paris 14
LCA recovered 3 fumbles and had 3 INT's with a 6:1 turnover versus Paris. LCA had 10 penalties for 76 yds and Paris had 6 for 54 yds...

Lexington Christian 56 Paris 14
lets not forget...they STILL have to go through NKY to get there! Beechwood & NCC etal are very tough as always...the caliber of teams they play up there each week is deceptive to thier Wins/Losses -Records...I still believe REGION 3 is the strongest in Class A again this year...JMO.

I think BLUTO's alias is Bill O'Reilly! I vote for #3 on the list above. I think this sets up a 2nd round playoff rematch of LCA vs Raceland! :thumb:

Raceland 54 Nicholas County 6
Congrats to the RAMS and their fans! Old Rambler - my phone battery died so I couldn't post anymore to you...sorry about that! LCA is poised to take the #1 spot in the playoffs now as long as they win out against Fairview in 2 weeks...off week next week.

LCA has TOO much overall team speed...and they are VERY physical. Hayden (Freshman) had 101 yds with 3 TDs. Witt (Freshman) QB was 11 of 18 for 175 yds and 1 TD passing.
