  1. Ram-T Cat Fan - Good post! :thumb: And being on the receiving end of 8 of those 12 turn-overs...I think you can emphasize the word "FORCED" because the RAM defense really took it to LCA last week and our kids were a little shell-shocked form the first play from scrimmage when (and I got to watch this on video) Jt Forrest #51 blew up our guard - and I mean de-cleated him and drove him back 2 yards to get to our ball-carrier at the LOS and drilled him and caused a fumble which Raceland got! The Raceland ORANGE CRUSH is for REAL! This should be an excellent game! Good luck to both teams...:ylsuper:
  2. I just confirmed with LCA - we did receive a :""Regular Season DISTRICT CHAMPS" trophy...
  3. OldRam - well stated! :thumb: Once again, both of these teams' fans have way too much CLASS to be bashing the other's coaches or kids and I dont think anyone is interpreting the zeal & fervor as that at all - everyone on here seems to be simply "great fans" for their respective teams - you gotta admire that! ...both teams DESERVE to be here and I see this game as being a good one regardless of the weather or field conditions because they run similar offenses and the defenses are aggressive and fly to the ball!
  4. OldRam - I wa sjust kidding anyway...I am pulling for the RAMs like I said I would for three reasons: 1. The kids have great heart and they play as a TEAM - they arent looking for individual glory 2. Raceland has an EXCELLENT coaching staff led by a good Christian man with great integrity. 3. The Raceland fans are top-shelf and I have gotten to knwo a few of you this year - and it has been a true blessing to be involved with these fine men. Good luck to both teams and safe travels for the NCC folks!
  5. Uh-Oh! "Citizen's Arrest!" He used the "R" Word!:sssh:
  6. pld - sounds like you have some "sour grapes" to me and this obviously clouds any true objectivity needed to see things clearly... So maybe you should stick to this threads topic and move on...
  7. MVP - Yes the RAMs defense is very impressive...Their Offense has been a little suspect at least what I saw in the two LCA games - that has a lot to do with LCA's defense as well. Raceland's Special Teams play is a HUGE advantage for them and I thought Beach(#3) did a terrific job punting last night as well. I dont know what type of Defense NCC has...but they better be ready for Grizzle and company!
  8. TGF - sorry man...it was just too easy and was sitting there begging me to post that one! :D
  9. TGF - Ask your WIFE!
  10. pld - you must really be totally clueless about Coach Rains and what he has done with a VERY YOUNG team this year! I see it as a "masterful" job of coaching when you have to replace the entire SKILLPLAYERS from last years team and use two freshmen - one at TB and the other at QB! Are you kidding me? Do your research and see how many coaches could pull that off and come out with a 9-3 season! Here's some history for you on LCA's Football Records: Year Record Notes 1999 0-7 8-man/JV 2000 2-6 JV regular 2001 2-8 Varsity - 1st year 2002 1-9 Varsity 2003 8-3 Rains' 1st year at LCA/1st Playoff game ever 2004 8-3 won 1st round; lost to Beechwood in 2nd round 2005 11-2 won 1st two rounds; lost to NCC & LexCath - both CHAMPS 2006 9-3 Lost in 2nd round to 11-1 Raceland So you think Rains is not a good coach? If so, then you have level-set your ability to analyze football!:ylsuper:
  11. Hey RAMs fans - Beechwood was the previous year's DEFENDING STATE CHAMPS and LCA took them to them to the woodshed last year in the 2nd round... So dont let the "aura" of playing the DEFENDING STATE CHAMPS affect your mental attitude at all...Those are TWO different teams - Last years STATE CHAMPS and this years NCC team...And I am not saying this to be snotty or disrespectful to NCC at all - its just last year means NOTHING...the ONLY thing that means anything is THIS WEEK! :thumb: BOTH teams have EARNED the right to be in the REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and I think it is an EVEN year and it is time for DISTRICT 6 to head to the SEMI's!:ylsuper:
  12. TGF - yes that was me...i was introducing Bluto to Cvillecat & Austydak... And as for the lights, it wasnt me...I actually would have done it the 1st Quarter when the Orange Crush defense was smacking LCA in the mouth!:jump: Give us some credit, LCA had alot of momentum going when those lights went out...we heard it was a couple of kids wearing ORANGE though! That is a joke - it was a couple of little LCA mischievers - we ave them on tape because they were also inside th school building as well. I also agree that LCA's turnovers were certainly caused by some VERY GOOD defense! I am contemplating coming over to Raceland next week to watch you guys win the REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! Heck, I might even stay for the post-game festivities if they are as good as it sounds!:ylsuper: Again, we appreciate the fervor and zeal of the Raceland community as a whole for their Football program - you are top-notch and classy and it shows that your fan-base is also a large part of your TEAM and I know the team itself feels your presence! Go RAMS!
  13. One more item I really need to comment on... The RACELAND FANS were awesome! What a crowd you brought! I know your players & coaches really appreciated this great fan support and please make sure you show up next week in even greater numbers...it DOES make a difference to those kids. Good luck next week!:thumb:
  14. Congrats Raceland Rams! Your team came out and smacked LCA in the mouth from the opening kick-off. JT Forrest played an outstanding game as did their entire defense! LCA did give Raceland a bunch of help with SEVEN turnovers!!!!! Go do the research on that stat - how many teams make 7 turnovers and still win the game? Or even lose by less than 8 points? I AM pulling for the RAMS the rest of the way! Because your fans and kids and program have so much class and you respect people which in turn deserves respect. Go RAMS - we need you to avenge our honor from last years loss to NCC when you play them next week!:ylsuper:
  15. sorry Bluto et al - I just couldnt resist!
  16. The game will be on the Raceland radio station - well, I think it's actually the FAIRVIEW radio group - but that is another thread altogether as I understand it! :scared:
  17. We have tons of parking - just look for the field lights. You can enter from Reynolds Rd or Wellington Way - doesnt matter.
  18. Austy - no problem with you being a RAM fan - they are a pretty good group to be associated with! :thumb: I think between the Raceland fans and the LCA fans - we have so much respect for each other and the teams do as well, that it is a "no brainer" to think our District will root for our District - hopefully all the way to the STATE! Safe travels to the Raceland fans tonight on your way to Lexington.
  19. Hey WideOpen - that is probably just GAS!   Actually I think you're right NCC wins this one much much closer 24-21...
  20. Hey RAM fans! What happened to you? Have you gone into "stealth" mode on this thread or what?! At least tell us how practices are going!
  21. I think it is all about their numbers - football can be a game of attrition and just having the number of kids is critical. I also know their JrHigh (feeder) program started out with just 22 kids or so and ended up with only 16 due to injuries...this becomes very difficult to sustain a program without the attitudes and enthusiasm required to play. This IS very unfortunate for the program...hopefully they will rebound from this.
