Paris vs. Raceland / Thoughts and Predictions

Featured Replies

Raceland is at home this week for senior night vs. Paris. What are everyones thoughts on this one. Raceland is 8-1 and are playing really well. Everything seems to be clicking at the right time. Paris is good football team with a lot of speed and size. I hope that the Rams can stay focused like they have been since the LCA game/wake up call and go into the playoffs on a positive note. Lets go Rams!!! Send the seniors out in style in their last regular season home game.:flame: :thumb: :thumb:

Paris has a lot of talent, but they can get demoralized if they get behind. Play smashmouth football, and keep them back on their heels. I won't say that they will fold, but it will weaken them and allow you to overcome their size and athleticism.

I think this will be a good game. It will a lot closer than anyone thinks. But knowing Hoof he will be holding a little back for the next game. There is just somethings that are held back to throw a surprise at team for the 2nd time in a week. I think there is no one any better at the element of surprise than Randy, he has been that way since I had him for classes at RHS. Always popping something on the kids either a quiz or a water balloon never know with him. Rams win by 10.

Like I stated in another thread, I don't like the idea of having to play the same team in two consecutive weeks especially with the 2nd one being a playoff. It is what it is though and we can disagree with how things are set up all we want and it will not change it so there is no use complaining about it. Ram Players: Keep the focus that you have had all year, I am sure that our coaches will see to that. Also, I do not have a roster or program with me at this time so if anyone does you might want to post all these seniors names (along with the senior cheerleaders and band members) so everyone can give ALL of them the congrats they deserve for time and years of dedication and hard work with the Raceland "family" Football Tradition. I would list the ones that I can think of but I don't have a list and am sure that Iwould leave someone out and I certainly wouldn't do that. All are special and deserve recognition.

Nice post Oldrambler!!

We had two starters out with injuries in the Fairview game. What is their status for this week & the playoffs?

Raceland has a good team. When Paris plays a good team, that can compete with them, they have difficulty. Paris has a big line, but they will not come off the ball with any aggressiveness. They have some big kids, but little desire to be good., maybe the desire to be good is there, but perhaps the work ethic is not. I don't know what it is. Raceland will win this game based on what I have seen Paris do against the other 2 good teams they have played (Frankfort and Lex. Christian). If Raceland gets up 14-0, call it ballgame, because the Hounds cannot play from behind. Sometimes it doesn't matter how athletic your team is, they have to want to do the little things. From what I have seen Raceland does the little things and Paris doesn't.

This week I noticed a new RB (at the Paris game). Very fast and not afraid to run. I saw some plays to the TE, and man he is strong and FAST (where was that play at all year?)... SO I guess it will all depend on how much the rest of the Paris team wants to come out and play. Eleven on the field and it takes more then 5 or 6 wanting to play.

Excellent, excellent post! Very insightful. :thumb:

It is also part the coaches fault. Seems like everyone wants to beat up on Paris' line (including me one post last week). So if the line isn't firing off the line of scrimmage and is waiting on the defense, then the coach needs to be looked at, and if there is not much discipline, then who's fault is that? Kids can be as good as they are coached!

The kids have to want to be coached as well........ I don't think any coach in the state Ky wants to be mediocre(sp). I guarantee every offensive line coach in the state of Ky stresses to their players that they have to be aggressive in firing off. I don't know what they do at practice though or what their attitude is like in practice, I am just going by what I see in the games. The point is this. Paris is very atheltic. They have some great individual athletes, but they are not a very strong team. The key word being "team". It just seems that anytime a team comes out and "hits them in the mouth", they back down. Do I hope Paris wins? Absolutely. Will they beat Raceland? Based on what I have seen when they face good teams, I don't think they will. It could be long ride back from Ashland for the Hounds, which will make it an even longer trip next week.

That is one of the reasons why the scheduling grid was set up next year that says Week #11 must be a non-district game.
