Paris vs. Raceland / Thoughts and Predictions

Featured Replies

If all the above is true then Raceland should come away with a big win. The Rams WILL pound on you all night long. Big hits are the order of the day. Some of these kids just can't get enough.

Raceland 46

Paris 14

:thumb: I agree. The Rams have played some of the most physical football I have seen since the loss to LCA. A credit to the kids & the coaching staff. It seems that the Rams always play Paris very physical. I can't remember a game when it was not a hard hiting affair. I hope the trend continues.

Don't write Paris off. They want nothing more than to come into Ram Stadium and take home a playoff spot at their own house. Let's not wake a sleeping giant.

KF11 - this is WHY I see it the way I called it...I agree with you on this.

It seems like there may be some slightly over-rated players on Paris' line area in my opinion, but ya can't coach SIZE! So many colleges will take the chance that they CAN help kids with size get good enough to make a contribution to a D-1 school. Especially as athletic as some of those prospective Paris linemen are...they just need some direction and encouragement in the right areas and they can help some D-1 schools - they all seem like good kids to me.

Yes that is correct. From what I have seen of them, good kids would describe most of them...

Who is going to be the 4th team out of this district in the playoffs. Is it going to be Bath Co.? Didn't they beat Fairview earlier in the year?

Raceland 42

Paris 7

Paris scores first, then Raceland gets rolling.

That's the way it's done in every other sport that has a district postseason. I see no reason why it should be different for football.

Fair enough, that was just my opinion on the regular season. I do know that in our district in basketball and baseball that the district tourney is determined by a draw. This doesn't really matter though, we still have to play and win vs. whoever thew opponet is to advance.:thumb:

 Where are the all the Paris Fans that usually post on BGP????

Calling them all out!

Jimmy - Yes BATH COUNTY will play AT LCA in the 1st round...

PARIS & RACELAND will play each other AT the winner of this weeks game - back to back games! very weird isnt it? :creepy:

I dont think you all understand how good this Raceland team is!

RACELAND- 44

Paris-6

I just hope that the team (Raceland) is not taking this one lightly, if they are it a sure recipie for disaster.

Paris is more than capable of winning this game. If Raceland takes this game lightly as mentioned above, then Paris will walk out with a win. In a game of this magnitude for both teams I don't see Raceland taking this lightly. If (once again another "If") Paris comes to play, meaning they play the way they are capable of playing, this should be an excellent ball game. Raceland is good football team, so it will be tough. They have owned Paris for the last couple of years. The hounds have to bring it on Friday, because they can guarantee Raceland will.

Paris comes to play the way they are capable of:

Paris 28

Raceland 21 (OT)

If Paris doesn't show up:

I believe I said earlier

That would be a long bus ride back to Raceland in back-back weeks if Paris loses......

Raceland has won the last 4 games against Paris.

Raceland leads the series with Paris 8-5.

It is time for Paris to break that streak.

Back to back games with the same team is a killer, and a long ride for everyone, which ever way it goes!

Yes they are capable of winning this, it is going to depend on different ones not giving up, and hopefully some counter plays?

Rams had a nice offensive practice yesterday. Senior DE/RB Joe Stephens practiced yesterday after sitting out against Fairview due to a injured shoulder. It will be nice to get him back this week.

Forcast is for heavy on and off rain thru

Sat. morning.

Will this benefit or hurt each team?

What are your thoughts?

As for an advantage to one team or the other I really don't buy into that too much. Both teams have to play in those conditions so it evens everything out. Imo the thing that it does is that a team has a lot of speed or one real fast RB for example, it will slow him down some. A passing team may have somewhat of an advantage in the the recievers know where they are going to make their cuts/routes,etc. and the defense has to react. On the other hand you have a wet football and it makes it harder to throw and catch. If at gametime it is a light rain it shouldn't matter that much imo. A heavy rain is a whole different matter. The bottom line is that both teams have to play in the same conditions and adjust to those conditions. I do know that the field surface at Raceland will hold up better than regular grass. Raceland has the "spray on" field turf that bonds with the grass and makes it more durable. This is not like the "roll on" type field turf but it does help.

The Rams seem to play well in bad weather. Let's hope the trend continues.
