Totally agree!:thumb: ... Coach French is a winner and he knows how to build winning programs!... Some coaches win football games, some coaches build programs... Coach French does both!!

Mercer Co. 68 North Oldham 7
:thumb: agreed!!... I know there are Mercer fans who have been there for the past 10 years... some of those years flat out getting their teeth kicked in, but now payday is here! Enjoy it Titan fans!... cause like someone said earlier, Mercer moves up with the 'big boys' next year and things will be a bit different. The Titans will still be very competitive... it'll just be a different scenario!

the meeting with the Superintendent???... you gotta be kidding me!!! You think that had anything to do with Friday's win??? Now you are funny!!! I guess all the upperclassmen got to play tonight... oh yeh, and Boyle won... so, where are all the 'concerned fans' this week??? You go Coach Pardue... stick to your guns!!:thumb:

Boyle football parents meet with superintendent, principal
I agree 100%!!:thumb: ... When Boyle Co was winning, there were still upset parents over something... not all parents were happy back then, but the team was successful so who would dare say anything?!?... but now that they're on a bit of a losing streak the fans/parents are ready to pounce! I agree... the kids' best interests should be at heart... wonder if the parents practice what they preach?!? PITIFUL!! oh yeh... think about this too... the parents requesting this meeting with the Superintendent in the middle of the season is horrible! This meeting alone is yet another distraction to the kids and the football program! They could have addressed their concerns with the Superintendent at the end of the season... this also doesn't speak well of the Supt. IMO. How can coaches and players concentrate when junk like this goes on?!

What would coach Pardue have to do to be deemed successful?
Coaches aren't above talking to parents... so I didn't mean to come across that way, but when a coach has to explain himself to parents of 60+ kids on his team... when does he have time to coach?? True, parents visit the classroom and talk to teachers, but I hope you would agree that parents get far more fired up over their kids on athletic teams than they do in the classroom... sad, but I think this is true. Sure... a coach should listen or talk if a parent has questions... 1 time/conversation per parent... after that no one should be calling the coach complaining about playing time, play calling, etc. That is for the principal and AD to discuss with the coach... not the parents. In my opinion, Pardue is a 'gutsy' guy for the simple fact that he knew he would be compared to the almighty Chuck Smith and he still wanted the job! That says alot about him in my opinion. He knew he would pay heck if he didn't 'measure up', but he wanted the job anyway! So... his heart very well looks to be in it for the kids and the program as a whole since he had to have seen the potential for rough waters ahead. Who in their right mind would have wanted to come in right behind Chuck Smith?? Some assistant coaches don't make the best head coaches... I don't know in this case... but 2 years ago the Boyle 'faithful' (those on bgpreps) insisted Pardue get the job!! Well... they got what they wanted and they still aren't happy. So, I suggest to all who think they may be able to do a better job to apply when it comes open. It is so easy to run the program from home and behind a computer... I say the upset/disappointed parents and/or fans need to apply when the job is open and get down in the trenches with them and show us how it should be ran.:thumb:

Class 2A Rankings (Fan Poll)
I agree with ya Mighty_Mighty_Titans... but lets all face it! If Mercer does win the state title, then people are going to say 'well they should have they are a 5a school'... and if they don't win it people will say 'well they should have, they're a 5a school'.... see the pattern?? **note-I know Mercer is 2a, but with them moving to 5a next year this is all people are talking about** Its a shame for the kids that they just can't get a little credit and respect for coming together so nicely since the merger and working together to make history!:thumb:

What would coach Pardue have to do to be deemed successful?
First off... you may have never worried about wins and losses, but I've watched Boyle Co and their "fans" for the past 30 years and they certainly watch the W & Ls... And of all the sniping going on... when the parents aren't happy and their mouthing about it in front of their kids (players) then that filters down to the player and now Coach Pardue is not only having to deal with the kid... but the parents and what they've put in their kids' heads. Secondly... yes, there is so much pressure on these kids... who do you think that comes from? The entire Boyle Co fan base had put pressure on Coach Pardue from day one that only a run at a state title would deem him succesful... that is nuts!!! The parents, community and coaches have ALL had expectations from these players... it isn't to rest soley on the coaches that they have put so much pressure on these kids. Parents are some of the worst sometimes!! And finally... coaches, whether middle school or high school, don't need to give explanations to mom/dad or community fans everytime things get rough. Would people go to the coaches and ask for the secret of their success when they're winning?? I doubt it!! Mommy, daddy, and everybody else think they deserve to be able to go to the coach and talk... or to the assistant coaches... to get answers. To be honest... the coaches don't owe anybody that! If you have 100 people... its likely that you'll have 100 different opinions/answers/views. A couple of years ago 99% of the Boyle Co folks said it was a no brainer to hire Pardue for the job as he was the only one that knew what it took. Well.... leave him alone and let him do his job. He is only in year 2 of this thing and if you thought he was so great then... how could you be so wrong now??:thumb:

Ashland vs. Mason Co. Predictions
Well said Fletch!:thumb: .... Mason has a good shot at beating Ashland... they put four quarters together, minimize the penalties... watch out!!!:flame:

Southwestern 28 Boyle County 7
I can't believe that just 2 years ago when Chuck Smith announced he was leaving for UK that most everyone on bgpreps from the Boyle County area said it was a 'no brainer' to hire Pardue as the head man. Seems like there were hundreds of folks singing Pardues praises and how he would be the only man for the job since he had been with Coach Smith for so long and knew how to make the program succeed. Where are those people now? You've lost faith in the man after one bad season?!?! Boyle County... you've gotten spoiled!!!!! Not everyone has enjoyed the tremendous success you guys have been fortunate enough to experience... so take your lumps and stick true to the PROGRAM!!!! If Pardue didn't know what he was doing I'm sure Chuck Smith (whom is all-knowing) wouldn't have kept him by his side all those years. Get over it! For the sake of the kids and the program!!!

I know Grant Tamme, senior, is out injured, but once he is back in the mix you're saying he isn't a talented football player either??? Those are some pretty strong words, especially if those kids read these threads and you know a lot of 'em do.

what's up with Dunbar??... are the Bulldog faithful giving Hensley flack yet? I'm surprised by their lack of success this year:confused:

why the young quarterback?? What happened to Tamme?

Mercer Co. 63 Lexington Christian 0
Excellent comment ntrl!... LCA is very weak... not that Mercer doesn't have a good football team, but you can't gage success by beating weak teams. Beat teams like Boyle, Danville, Lex Catholic and then you've got something to talk about. I wish the best for the TITANS and see them making some noise down the road!:thumb:

Lafayette vs. Mason Co.
Mason wins... unified team, talented athletes, and coach will have the team ready and game plan to do it.:thumb:

Could Mercer/Harrodsburg Consolidated be forced to play 3A in 2006?
Now granted, Boyle and South Laruel will be tough games, but come on... Casey and Garrard Co. Though some won't like this, they aren't what I would call tough competition. I don't think people gage their success by how well they play against teams like that. Now Boyle Co. on the other hand... well now that is a step in the right direction for the Mercer program. When Mercer competes with the likes of Boyle Co. year and year out... even winning a few of 'em... then you'll know they've taken their game to a whole new level. I wish the best for Mercerburg and those kids!!! They have an opportunity not too many get to take advantage of. Go 'hogdogs'!!!:dancingpa

Mercer / Harrodsburg Consolidation
Jaggers would remain head coach... though Yeast would be an incredible asset to the success of the merger and football program!:thumb: Regarding 'edge' and/or 'advantage'... Mercer staying in 2A next year is an opportunity they must capitalize on... that is their best shot at a state title before moving up to 3A or even 4A, depending on how the classes are decided by KHSAA. No doubt about it, Mercer will have all the firing power they need to get it done if the 2 schools do indeed merge. Question is, 'will they be able to?' Jaggers will have to work his magic to put it all together. It'll be fun watching and hopefully, the best is just around the corner for these young athletes!:dancingpa
