Mike Turner, Jeff Moore, Joe Spencer, and Paul Smith are probably the top 4 that have wore the Maroon and White. IMO

Ben Bowling, he played for them in the late 90's. Very athletic but if I recall he had several discipline problems. I remember when Tubby Smith came and watched him play at the Palace in Booneville in 1999. I think he ended playing for a short time at TULANE.

Owsley County will have a solid team this year. They are returning everyone except for the Congelton brothers. The biggest problem that Owsley County had last year was the lack of a good point guard. They were unable to handle pressure all of last season. If Nick Noble does come to the Owls it should make Owsley the favorite in the 56th this season.

She is a great young talent. I have seen her play several times and she would be a great asset to any team.

Good Luck to Coach Hall. He was a class act. The 14th region will miss him.

Owsley County will be there.

As long as he is winning at PCC the fans will not care how slow he plays.

The White team in the underclassmen game had more talent. With Stepp, Cox, and Gay they should have prevailed over the Blue team (which had less talent. But the Blue team outplayed and out hustled the white team and they played unselfish. The white team was not interested in passing and it led to their loss. At one time the Blue team Which was Coached by former Owsley Coach Charlie Turner had a 26 point lead. Stepp was not impressive at all. Neither Cox or Gay shot the ball well.

This will be the rivalry of the state next year. It will be strange to see Coach Holland roaming the sidelines in blue and gold.

Thats the story that I have heard from some coaches in the 14th.

Slone is a great pitcher. She has some good speed and great control.

One can only imagine how many of the PCC players will transfer to Hazard.

I just got back from the girls tourney and am looking forward to being at Rupp for the boys.

This was the saddest part of the tournament. She went down at the horn after a hard fought win. Her team was celebrating and she was laying on the floor in pain. I spoke to her later on though and she said they thought is was a partial tear. Good Luck to her in her rehabilitation.

Breathitt should have won this game. They made Iroquoise play their game but in the last quarter Breathitt wore down. I just cant figure out why coach Moore wouldnt call a timeout to let her team rest. I sat behind the bench and several of the Breathitt players were trying to get her to call a TO but she never. But a good season to the lady cats.

I was very impressed with Pike Central and Coach Butcher during their games. This is a team that will make several trips to the state.

Very impressive win. LCA's 3-2 zone and hot shooting led them to a state title.

If JBS plays team ball they should win. If JBS plays Clark Stepp ball the Bobcats will win. It just depends on the team that shows up.

Congrats to the Lady Bobcats and to Coach Moore. I will be in Bowling Green to support the Lady Cats and the 14th region.

KCC should have saved some of those shots for a good Hazard team.
