14th Region All-Star game

Featured Replies

The 14th region all star game will be this sunday at

PCC

Everyone always looking for a free way in! :) Probably will get in free and then go eat in the hospitality room. Coaching cards are over used, they should be only for the region that you coach in and that is it! If you decide to go to another game outside of your own region you should have to pay like everyone else.

Not to get off topic, but I don't agree. When everyone else, puts in hours of preparing, practicing, scouting, film work and coaching....it can be a valid point but coaching cards, are earned and one of the few benefits, that are offered statewide.

Hope the All-Star game goes well and many, get to showcase their talent.

I agree with this 100%. Most coaches actually go in the hole from coaching.

I agree with the part that, COACHES, acutally do go in the hole with all they have to do during the year. But my argument is way too many people have these cards that don't do anything besides enjoy getting into games free! This really burns me up. Between all the coaching and referee cards that people use who are not actually coaches and refs how is anyone supposed to make any money at the gate. There should be a way to take care of this but for right now it just isn't right for people to take advantage of this kind of situation.

....100% agree, if you don't actually coach, you shouldn't have.

Anyone have information on who we may get to see if we attend this game?

Agree 100%. I think head coaches who put in the hours should be rewarded with a free pass, but entirely too many so-called 'assistants' and 'volunteers', who in most cases do very little, take advantage of these cards. These cards are a way to reward friends and manipulate the system, and something needs to be done about it.

What time will this event start Sunday? Are there going to be any three point contests etc...?

I would like to attend. Anyone have a list of players?

Some of the 56th players will include:

Seniors

Ryan Romans - Powell Co

Cody Berryman - Estill Co

Kenny Brandenburg - Lee Co

Caleb Fetters - Lee Co

Trey Congleton- Owsley Co.

I'm sure I'm missing a few.

Underclassmen

Tristan Cackling - Estill Co

Aaron Charles- Lee Co

Justin Holland - Breathitt Co

Travis Smith - Breathitt Co

Nick Noble - Breathitt Co

Jeremy Congleton - Owsley Co

Adam McIntosh Owsley Co

Daniel Kinser - Powell Co.

Like I state before I'm sure I've left someone off. But, that in a nutshell is who is playing from the 56th

To the underclassmen list add Brandon Campbell-Wolfe and Drew Davidson-Jackson city. These 10 made up the blue team. The white team included Blank and Gay-Buckhorn, Stamper-Knott, Stepp and Cox-JBS, 3 others I didn't know and 2 who didn't attend. I hope this is correct.

The game was very entertaining with the Blue team taking the win. Smith was THE stand out player in the game. Excellent under the goal on both offense and defense. The blue teammates played well together and several stood out. Davidson really hustled, never stopped and was able to get inside and score over the big guys. Charles and Cackling were impressive. They all contributed!

I don't know the White team players so well and I didn't watch them as closely. However, Blank came up big several times and really helped keep the White team in the game. I really expected more from Gay, Stepp and Cox. They played well but didn't stand out. Maybe one of you guys who know those players would be willing to give us a more accurate picture of the White Team players?

The White team in the underclassmen game had more talent. With Stepp, Cox, and Gay they should have prevailed over the Blue team (which had less talent. But the Blue team outplayed and out hustled the white team and they played unselfish. The white team was not interested in passing and it led to their loss. At one time the Blue team Which was Coached by former Owsley Coach Charlie Turner had a 26 point lead.

Stepp was not impressive at all. Neither Cox or Gay shot the ball well.
