Very poor judgement of posting it and I think it is right to investigate someone who made a spectacle out of a lost pet could be some ill intent here, and prolly would call for a whooping of sorts!

I agree with your post well said. For example a cow is not real agile a pregnant cow could slip on frozen ground and abort or miscarry that farmer is out a full year of expenses of that cow with no payday, thats a big deal and you could see how in a different situation that could cause concern, anger, or a dead dog.

Growing up in Farm County if Dogs are in your livestock and they are not yours they get shot. Right or wrong, but thats your money, your investment, and most states that is law as well. You do not wait on animal control, or rely on others, that ideal sounds great but it just doesnt work at all times. Others do not have a responsibility to covet and protect your pets....especially if things they own are being compromised. However you need to have proof IMO to ethically shoot a mans dog and that is usually law as well. It does not matter how many times the dogs have been there. Dogs can do harm without physically harming an animal undue stress and panic to animals can cause aborting, and other injuries. Livestock are pretty feeble at times.

Pretty dumb but if endangering livestock he was within his rights in most states.

I thank a vet any time I see one and its not intrusive to thank them. I figure the one guy I make his day is worth the risk of the few that may not think its cool. If someone thinks I am not sincere or wants to take what I say as fake or whatever then that is there loss. I told a guy with a vietnam veteran hat on the other day for his service, he swelled up with pride, said I was glad to do it. If you folded towels or didnt do much you still deserve thanks in my book cause if all heck broke loose sooner or later your number will be called. My uncle has the navy cross he was a cook, carrier hit a mine and he swam 17 men to shore through enemy water. So never know. I like the law it should be used in this case, but only if the coach kept it proffessional, as a coach or official you should be professional and not engage in trash talking, arguing, or taunting of parents and fans, if you cross that line, well you should get what you get.
