Sounds like game was close early and heat took a toll on the game.

Game was postponed last night due to lightning and rain. Game started at 11 AM and was called with 7:30 left in the 4th quarter due to heat index. Delvon Dunn, one of Doss' star players, was sent to hospital with a dislocated shoulder. Apparently, late in the first half, there was no water on the Doss sideline so they had to stop the game and send the players across the field to PRP's sideline to get water. In the fourth quarter, two Doss football players (one of which is Ramone Kelly, another pretty good player for Doss) and an assistant coach collapsed and were taken to the hospital due to heat exhaustion.

I'm confused. How can a team be so unprepared not to have water in the sidelines? That is just pathetic.

That is what Courier Journal's Jason Frakes tweeted out. He said he was at the game.

....makes two of us.

From what I understand PRP was responsible for filling up the water and took to long to bring water back during the game. PRP picked up the coolers on a gator and took their time getting the water back to the side lines.

So not sure how you can faught the coach at Doss.

You would think that of all schools PRP would take this situation a little more seriously.

Most high school fields have irrigation systems. Why can they not tap into that and have running water on the sidelines?

What a mess I feel for the kids and coaches at Doss, earlier in the year they had a coach have to go to the ER during the Western Hills 7 on 7. Water and health of players falls on the head coach he should have stopped the game and told officials to be on the safe side, tough spot to be in.

I would think the head coach would be focus on what is doing on on the game field, not the sideline behind him.
