What does Boyle County need to do to improve in 2014? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Don't get me wrong Larry French was a great coach, but after watching his tenure compared to Chuck Smiths I'm sure we will see a different brand of football now that Chuck is back at Boyle no disrespect to French, but I think Boyle will show better fundamentals better conditioning and more effort from everyone involved. Chuck always seemed to get a bunch of average players to overachieve and play better team football. I expect Boyle to be in the running for another state title this year, and I feel that if a Chuck Smith coached takes a loss it's because they've got beat by a better team not better coaching.

If Boyle can keep their staff in tact, then they will have a great start to another successful season. I don't think their staff is set in stone yet.

Boyle has a wealth of talent returning. I don't think people realize how young they were last year. With that years experience and Chuck Smith, this year could be special. Great QB and running backs. Very good kicker, receivers and both lines greatly improved from start of last season.

What are you hearing regarding their staff and who do you think will stay?

Hester, C.Mason, and B. Mason are set in stone.

When you have a tremendous staff, you have to expect guys taking other jobs. On the other hand, other good coaches tend to migrate to these open spots. Still I think if the staff stayed in tact for a couple years it would solidify another crazy run of success. JMO

I don't think people should sleep on Mercer, in that district, next year. A lot of people saw their playoff win over Boyle as a fluke, but they really dominated most of that game. Don't know if the Titans will win it, but they will be a factor.

That said, Boyle does have good talent returning. The QB is as good an athlete as there is in that area.

It seems as if the BC BoE wasn't receptive to making an opening for Coach French's son, will they hire someone from outside if Coach Smith really wants them.

Too many question marks at Mercer. They could end up with a QB controversy.

Depends on the circumstances. Did anyone go with French? Is there an opening? Will Chuck Smith make some openings?

I don't know, but I could see Smith wanting to bring in his son also. BTW if I'm Boyle I do everything I can to get Brandon, one of the best young coaches in Ky...IMO

Brandon isn't coming. I asked Coach Smith that question at the press conference and he said Brandon is trying to create his name and spot in the coaching world. Brandon is not expected to join the staff.

Does anyone know what is going on with Boyle losing enrollment? Everything i hear from my Boyle friends is that everyone is trying to find ways to transfer in there. It was odd to me that they were one of the schools that lost enrollment and were moving down a class?
