A state run is not out of the realm of possibilities. They were very good in 2013 and with this staff and some maturation, they will be very.....very....solid.

This is true my son attended the meeting, and it happened with in a few days after Chuck was rehired.

What does Boyle County need to do to improve in 2014? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Hoskins has to stay healthy, he will be the kind of back people really dred to tackle. Runs low and is very strong kid., need a deep threat to throw to, just keep people honest, and the qb has to run more he avg almost 10 yds per carry last year, why he did not run more last year is puzzling, he could make defensive miserable. All of this is just coming from my view in the stands maybe the coaches see it differently

Food for thought. Mercer beat Boyle 31-30. Mercers qb rushed 25 times for 120 yards. Less than 4 yds per carry. Boyles qb rushed 13 times for 129 yards,10 yards a carry whose the better runner? My question is why someone on tbe Boyle sideline did not see this,and Mercer is supposed to have all the speed? Feed the man till they stop him then everything else opens up.So, from what i am hearing the Boyle offense will be set up different this year, might change everything.

 

I was at that game, and it seems like most of the Boyle QBs yards came from scrambles, while Mercer's was off called plays. Mercer was faster, but they didn't seem very disciplined, defensively.

 

FWIW, Hoskins is a good, strong runner, but I don't think anyone will be afraid of him. Still no deep threat at WR. I agree with jlow -- great staff + good talent = a good run... How good depends upon a lot of different factors, IMO.

I wasnt referring to one game for the qb,just checked the stats on khsaa and he rushed 83 x for 772 yds you do the math, also i did not say that people would be afraid of Hoskins. I used the word dred,but after a back with his strenghth keeps coming at you it gets old trying to tackle him, just aak the D1 linebacker fro. Warren Central, when Hoskins owned the field that night. If he is healthy he will be the best back in our region.

Boyle has the best coach to ever coach the game. If they don't win state this year and when they go to 3A then they are wasting the $95,000.00 a year they are spending on him.

Your so called sophomore laden team was stopped by a bunch of freshmen and sophomores from mercer. Your great defense got a TD scored on them by a mercer freshman. You better hope smith still has the magic wand because mercer is extremely young.

Chris Goodman isn't a freshman. Neither is Tommy Craig. Neither is Russell Sims. Drew Davis can't run like Goodman could and we all know Goodman's legs won that game for Mercer. Not his arm. I'm not saying Mercer County can't or won't beat Boyle but I am saying that nobody knows what will happen between now and then. If Drew Davis still can't play who will be the QB for Mercer County?
