I work for the school system and this is what I'm being told although I haven't heard anything official yet.

Looks like the numbers are back up this year to around 80 kids out for football at the high school to begin with and a tremendous staff is nearly completed. It should be an exciting season back at Boyle this year under Chuck's leadership.

Glad to see the number back up. I'm with you Country, I think this year will be exciting. I hope that we can start where Chuck left off. But I know that is just wishing. I think that it make take a couple of years but we should be ok this year. We might even surprise some people this year.

Has anybody heard anymore about the coaching staff that Chuck has with him next year?

I know some of the assistants that will be back were there last year. Add coach Settles and coach Bobby Leffew that both came from Lincoln and I heard that a top assistant coach from another very good central Ky program will be added. I think this year will be a surprise if we are not a top 10 team in the state with Chuck and the new staff,pluse the returning talent that is here.

I don't understand what the crosstown game with the Ads would have to do with what Boyle does next year. Of course it is important for the Rebels to win that game as always. There will be tougher games for them than Danville that they will have to contend with.

how did the freshman /J.V. look last year ?...I am assuming pretty good because other programs seem to struggle with a new coach the first couple of years, I would think. ..Good Luck Coach Smith, and have a great season

I have heard that this is a big freshman class as far as the interest in football is concerned. I understand that the coaches are high on this class as far as their potential goes. I am not sure about the Soph class. They feel very good about their Jr and Sr classes

It was announced that Boyle County has added a game at Madison Southern to complete their 2014 schedule. I think it is the last game of the regular season. That should provide quite a test before starting into the playoffs for the Rebels. I think Harris for Southern may now be ranked as the Number 1 running back in the country going into next season.

Boyle county will be hard to handle this year, great coaching staff, defense will be even better than last year, and they have the best dual threat qb in the state.
