Hired a middle school coach as head coach, middle school coach as Off. Coordinator, youth league coach at another position, not sure what else has went down, but these guys need to prove themselves to the kids, as any new coach does...but even more important for these fellas IMO. I think they will do fine.

Yea dont think they can do better than 3rd in several years to come. Not sure how the out of district schedule is. To be better they just need to develp some depth and find an identity on offense.

Get better insurance then, the insurance should not dictate our sport. Find a way to make more money, cut a few of the talking heads who do nothing at the KHSAA, raise championship ticket costs, get more sponsors, etc... etc.... Meet with the companies tell them your concerns and shop around to get a better fit.

Very rare that this is a good deciscion. Keep an eye on programs who do this and see where it takes them, I have experience with a few in the past and its been a struggle. But there are always exceptions.

Best class coming in they have had in a while, with the Robinson kid. I would guess they will be a young team but I am thinking realignment hurt them.

They have assembled a stellar middle school staff, big thing they need to do is prove themselves coaching wise, (not a knock on them) If they prove to the players early and get buy in...I think Woodford has some talent to be successful next year.

Too funny. I see this happening all the time in KY sports, football especially.

Sorry but I had to laugh I think we now know what the problem was at Carroll. If you didn't think the previous staff was any good thats one thing, but you expect to improve with this type of hire....I am aghast.

Someone got cut at some point.... then this guy who couldnt play til end of the season was added. Gonna puts the whole team thing to the side in my book but to each its own, my guess is the kid was talented so they wanted to get him involved.

Weird to me that a kid who could not play 11 games and had transferred and already played part of the year for another school, was even on the roster....seems someone had lost a roster spot? Am I incorrect in thinking that?

Don't feel sorry for anyone other than the kids, especially the one who lost playing time to the transfer. The rules on these things are clear but yet we have people continue to not abide by them. Rules stink but they are the RULES.

Ummmm No...I never said to do that you need to read the conversation between me and the other poster. But that overall attitude pumped into public schools would be great....instead you see a kind of take your kids and go somewhere else mentality by some. But I am not proposing any liquidation of private schools however.

I would probably stop at private schools. I agree never will be a completely level playing feild, But IMO seperation would be a good start. As for what we agree on, imagine if all the resources at T and ST X were piped into the public schools in that area, wo what a difference that could be made. Imagine all the volunteer hours, and bright minds were spread out in that city what the communities would be like. Pipe dream I know but just imagine.

I don't care for public schools doing it either to be honest. I actually am a purist of the old neigborhood schools. I think when this country was strong kids went to schools in their area, the community took pride in the community and the grounds, if there was a problem folks pitched in and made a change and solved the problem. I know that money and budget and economy have made it hard to run the smaller schools and consolidation has been a needed means to an end. But this is what to me is the best for kids, the country, and education, and we should all try to get back to it. Jefferson county schools are a good example of what happens when you pull all the good, best and brightest kids into certain schools and leave behind the rest, you end up with some pretty bad schools.

I stand corrected in parts of my post, but in general your entire enrollments are built from students who once where in a public school or at least lived in a public school district, they were in some way drawn into your enrollment, regardless of where they live. You guys were able to choose if they could attend, its just a different monster, and none of your facts or opinions will change my mind. I knew I would take a beating on here for my opinions, but it happens to the best of us. To me if you make a choice to be in a private school you should be just that a private entity, and whatever exclusions come with that would be your deciscions. I have always supported a split.

Bottom line is a kid from another distict can not come to my (public school) without a change of address via the KHSAA, or play at all if deemed a sports move....They can in a private school, actually there whole school can exist of transfers, out of district students, and sports moves if they so seem fit. Hence a unfair practice IMO, and to me if they want that right, they should be able to have it, and play each other. Its a choice they make. If they dont like that option go to your local school. I am sure my opinion is not popular among you, but nonetheless there are several who feel similar.

Yes I do believe its better, those people can choose to go there and they pay good money to do so, basically they have the belief that they deserve better than the public school can provide so let them make that choice, these schools also have enrollment requirments and can choose their own size.

Dont like that ideal but I do like seperation, I always wanted a split in the 4 class system. I never did really understand, why it didnt happen years ago around the same time the KHSAA moved us to 6 classses.

So what has kept this program from being more successful in the past under the old staff? Talent? Seems like they have decent facilitites and numbers? Well respected staff?

Exaclty my thoughts way to toot the Highlands horn. If the kid is good academic standing and has the requirments to graduate, Highlands still says no??? Not sure they can even do that..... But why would they?

Anderson seems to reload each year, very wild and dissapointing end to the year last year, with the clear the bench celebrations, and a qb that quit in the play offs, then came back, my guess is all this is a thing of the past and they end up in the hunt next year in 5a.

If so, the Joke is on Mercer, they continue to go out and get top coaches pay them well, talk the good talk and then run them off within a few years. What seems to be the issue there?
