Drake Jackson on Hudl

WOW! This kid is going to be a great interior lineman at the college level. He has an explosive drop step, gets those feet into the ground, and gets to his block. My favorite thing about watching this kid is, his drive. Has a great motor and looks to punish you.

I agree completely, he is fundamentally sound. If there are any offensive linemen out there that want to play college football watch Drake Jackson's footwork and handwork. He uses his handwork to throw his opponents off balance then drives his feet for the pancake.

He is visiting UK, OSU, and Bama this month..

I have heard that this kid is a beast on the field. Would be a good catch if the Cats could land him.

I have watched Woodford play in person 4 times last two years, and I do not recall ever noticing this kid as a stand out some really nice highlights though, I will have to watch closer this year.

Bama offered today.

Invited to the U.S. Army All-American game today. He said he will officially accept the invite as soon as he can.

He was quoted as saying UK is his leader.

I would be shocked if he did not pick UK.

Every OL prospect in KY needs to pay attention to Drake Jackson's recruitment. With so many FBS offenses going to up tempo spread offenses, the athletic demands for OL (and every position) are escalating rapidly. 5 - 8 years ago your could be 325 lb OL with elite LOS blocking skills and expect to draw a lot of FBS interest. No more. The OL being recruited now are lighter and way more athletic than before. 5.4 40 and 4.6 shuttle times are expected. Don't expect much interest at all if you are over 300 lb. You are now expected to execute blocks 15 - 20 yds from the LOS.

The only exceptions I have seen are in programs that still run power running offenses. Wisconsin and Stanford are two of the exceptions I have noticed.

Watched him closely against Madison Central Friday. Playing tackle this year will hurt his value on film. He is truly an interior lineman and doesn't possess the arm length to extend further than that. Very strong kid with a good punch when he hits you. Good prospect with a lot of potential. As he matures would like to see him develop a 4 quarter motor and play lower to utilize his leverage against taller players.
