  1. The Bluegrass Basketball Association is staying in Region (AS USUAL)10 and 11. Talked to one of the coaches in the 16th and they said they get the 9th region and the 9th region gets the 16th. Heard the 7th is staying in but the 6th is going out. Kind of wierd..:confused:
  2. Saw him work the Franklin Co. Anderson Co Game Friday night. Worked a solid game. Works very hard and like you said gives it his all.:ylsuper:
  3. I saw Glenn Napier work the Ky Prep Classic at Montgomery Co. He did a very good job as did Dexter Campbell. I am trying to figure out the comment as well as BEEN TOO GOOD. Please elaberate.
  4. There are strong officials all over the state. The BBA is one of the stongest associations in the state. They have the opportunity each year to send several different officials that are more than capable to handle the play in the state tournament. The past few years they have sent John Chamberlain, Clayton Brooks, Mike Goins, and last year Terry Smith and Cary Lyle. All are deserving and I am sure we will see some of these guys there again. Some of the others that we will see there in the next few years will be Bart Lenox, Don Werner, Bo Queen, Kirk Hudson, just to name a few that have had very successful years. Lets hope that all the officials picked will go to Rupp from all regions and have a succesful tournament:cool:
  5. Again It seems that you are WRONG again. If a player makes a legal shot attempt and air balls it, That same player may go get the ball and even legally dribble the ball again.
  6. Why would the player be banned from an opponents school:confused:
  7. Plato I am sure they both hope that doesnt happen again:ylsuper:
  8. I thought the same thing Big Slick. In fact I know He graduated from Rowan Co. in the Mid 90's:sssh:
  9. I think this game all comes down to Tregg Setty:ylsuper: If GRC allows him to have a Huge game it will be hard to overcome. Middleton will have his normal game and That is why GRC must keep Setty in check:cool:
  10. Yes Mondo is definately one of the showier officials, BUT, He handles the coaches and players as good as there has ever been. It will be a shame when he retires again.:ylsuper:
  11. WarriorMom I don't know what games you have been watching but most coaches like and want the 10th and 11th region officials. I know alot of the coaches in the 8th and 9th regions love comining into the 10th and 11th regions to play because they are going to be treated fairly and consistantly. And as most people know they are not "HOMERS" like you get in alot of the other regions.:sssh:
  12. Saw this started in a thread for 8th Region. Thought it would be fun for the 10th and 11th. Since the Bluegrass services both Regions for Basketball. As the other thread stated. If it came down to one game and you needed it to make it to the regional tournament, Who would you want to see walk on the court in the stripes. Three of the officials that you know would give it their best all night and would be fair to the kids.
  13. I have spoken to several coaches in the 10th Region and they have a seperate practice schedule for snow days.
  14. I have been told the game @ Dunbar is Monday the 9th. Can someone confirm this for sure.
  15. Yes I agree. That is crossing the line. I was told it was infront of the son, too. I also was told the parent was acusing the official he and another official was calling against his son. The official he confronted was overheard saying you are kidding. I can't believe as hard as the officials work on the court they have to put up with that kind of stuff off the court.
  16. Just called a BBA member It costs the school 160.00 for two and 210.00 for three.:thumb:
  17. Curious how this was handle. Did both officials signal the call at the same time?
  18. I talked to Bart yesterday and he was heading to West Virginia Tech for Mid South Conference game. He told me Bo Queen was on his way to Pikeville for Mid South Conference Game. Said Bo had to get back after that to Georgetown for the Toyota Classic Finals with Cary Lyle and Mondo Angelucci. Yesterday was a filled up day for Officials in the BBA:thumb:
  19. It is absolutely amazing the perception that a basketball official gets here on BGP:isurrender: I have friends that officiate here in the state of KY. They tell me we are years behind in Officiating in KY because of the fact the KHSAA has not mandated 3 man crews throughout the regular season. Every state around us has been using 3 man crews for a while. If this is the case, it is very sadening as we are suppose to be one of the so called Basketball States and should be in the forefront of everything Basketball. We have the GREATEST SHOW IN HOOPS, The KHSAA National City state tournament. It uses 3 man crews and has for several years. Has it always had the best officiated games, I would be the first to say NO. WHY? Because our officials around the state do not or have not had the opportunity to officiate a whole season using 3 man crews. If this were the case, I am sure the officials would have more looks and plays in the 3 man system, and just like a basketball team, would get better as the season goes on. :irked: They tell me alot of the problems that most fans complain about, is that they do not understand the 3 man system. Just because an Official is closer to a play does not mean it is his/her area. Take a play where there is an official on the baseline and and another near mid court. The ball is at the 28 foot mark being closely guarded. The offensive player makes a move and drives to the basket and gets fouled by the definsive player. The foul is called. most fans think it should be called by the official on the baseline. Incorrect. The out official near mid court has the call as this is the Primary area for that official. now if that official passes on the call or does not get a good look then the baseline official will make it as it becomes his secondary call. Yes These guys and gals are not perfect and no one ever will be, but these people go out every night and do their best. No not every night is perfect on the court but there is not many of them out there thoes not give 100% every night. If more fans would learn the rules and understand more of the officiating principals, these same people on here that are complaining, would then understand the game more.:thumb:
  20. Hopefully Brandon Rash's injury is not to serious, Indians go where he goes.
  21. Its the Kentucky Prep Classic, it was in Frankfort before coming to Montgomery County.
  22. Yes At Montgomery County High School in the new arena. Great day of basketball.
  23. Still hard to beleive Coach Greiser Received TWO technicals. What did he do to deserve them?
  24. I heard this game could have really gotten ugly but the officials did a good job of calling the game to the end. I was wondering if this was a three man crew. I have heard that Paris wonce they get behind really gets physical and just gets kind of crazy with their fouling. Maybe someone who was there can elaborate.
