10th and 11th Region Officials

Featured Replies

Saw this started in a thread for 8th Region. Thought it would be fun for the 10th and 11th. Since the Bluegrass services both Regions for Basketball.

As the other thread stated. If it came down to one game and you needed it to make it to the regional tournament, Who would you want to see walk on the court in the stripes. Three of the officials that you know would give it their best all night and would be fair to the kids.

Cary Lyle would be one for sure.

None! I would hope that the rest of the coaches would wake up and vote to go out of region.

Its not that they are terrible, but they know who is supposed to win. Too many of them are front runners. They call with the final outcome in mind. Go out of region, and they call what they see, not what they think they should see.

I haven't been to any games this year, but I always remember the 10th and 11th region officials being some of the best in the state.

Cary Lyle, John Chamberlain (although I think he hasn't reffed in a while), Kevin Walter.

You are right, John Chamberlain has not called this year. He took a leave of absence for this year.

You Are right Sportsfan, John did take a leave of absence and he is really missed.:ylsuper:

Based on the last few years and who has worked the finals of the regional Tournament:

Bart Lenox Cary Lyle Bo Queen And yes John Chamberlain if and When he gets back:D

I'll stick to this strategy as my first option, but if I had to pick one, it would be Terry Smith.

Hopefully, he'll be back soon. He's one of the best in the business.:thumb:

I worry that if Chamberlain and Mondo Angelusi were to work the same game they may run into each other. Chamberlain and the high-stepping strides to report a foul to the table and Mondo with the showmanship of hopping around as he emphasizes the call. Ha-ha.

Truth - it would be easier to list the refs who I wouldn't feel good about seeing. The BBA has a lot of quality officials.

Yes Mondo is definately one of the showier officials, BUT, He handles the coaches and players as good as there has ever been. It will be a shame when he retires again.:ylsuper:

Give me Bo Queen, Cary Lyle, and John Chamberlain for me also, especially Bo, I think he is the best ref in the state.
