  1. The Thunder did move on from him, and currently about to finish below .500 for the second year in a row now with the Bulls. That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised if both he and the Bulls look to move on after this year. With that said though the NBA does love to recycle coaches, so he probably would get another NBA job if he wanted to stay. I just for some reason believe for the right job he would come back to college now after 10 years. Which UL or UK would be jobs I think he would strongly consider.
  2. I do think he will be back in college soon and honestly UL or UK if Cal left after this year are two of the places I could see him going to.
  3. I will throw a name out there that could be a possibility IMO, and that is Billy Donovan. He is currently about to finish with a losing record for the second year in a row with the Bulls. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he and the Bulls both want to go in separate directions. He may be a long shot, but I think there could be a possible fit there.
  4. He still shouldn’t play ahead of Wagner? What? Wagner is a very key piece to this team. While Wagner may have been the higher recruit coming in and probably more upside if he puts it all together. Sheppard has definitely been the better college player out of the two this year, and is usually why he is in the game at the end and not Wagner. Sheppard by his play on the court has shown he deserves to play ahead of Wagner. Right now UKs best lineup is when Wagner is on the bench and Sheppard, Dillingham, and Reeves are on the floor together.
  5. They have started slow and dysfunctional when Sheppard has started this year too. Just for whatever reason this team starts slow. So at least they have two guys that come in the game and bring instant energy and scoring off the bench to counter the slow starts.
  6. Great win! Now the real question is was Cal dumb for not taking a timeout at the end to set up the last shot? I know if Sheppard missed that we would have heard people on here say he was dumb for not taking a timeout to set up a play. So is it only dumb not to take a timeout when it doesn’t work? Or did Cal do the wrong thing by not taking the timeout even though they won?
  7. Couldn’t they have done that this past season if they wanted to with Benke and Rio? I know they did a little bit, but not much. I will say while it always sounds like a great idea having two QBs getting reps in games. It is also very rare where you actually see it work out well, and seems to usually have an offense never fully click when switching back and forth between QBs. Usually a play here or there or maybe a series, but usually offenses that truly try to use two quarterbacks never works out that well.
  8. I would think if any team loses a D1 QB there would be some drop off. I mean that is why he won the QB battle as a freshman to begin with, because he is that good. Just answering the question on if they have other guys that could step in at QB if absolutely needed.
  9. Well it’s a good thing that basically every team in the country this year has flaws that have led to a lot of losses for everyone this year. UK has also now beaten three teams in the top 10 of the NET rankings. So while yes the defense definitely is still a weakness. This teams strengths has also shown they can beat anyone. So besides maybe Purdue and UConn, UK is similar to most teams entering the tournament and has flaws, but also most likely a higher ceiling than most of those teams.
  10. I truly believe there are some that get truly excited about them losing and can’t wait to post after a loss. The sad part is those people that seem to be excited to post after a loss, are UK fans.
  11. That was a fun game to watch. I know I said this after the LSU loss and I will say it again. This team is definitely capable of making a deep run in the tournament and possibly winning it all. This team is also very capable of losing their first game. Either way I think we as UK fans should be very excited about this years team when it comes to the tournament. This team has all the pieces, just have to keep putting it all together.
  12. Cal gets a lot of hate from people on here. However, rarely does he seem to get credit. Cal has to get credit for developing Theiro right? Theiro has shown that he is one of the most important pieces on the team. So Cal has to get credit for developing him right? Also I would say Cal deserves credit for sticking with Edwards. Most people including myself was wanting him to stop really playing him, but he stuck with him. Now we are seeing his confidence really start to grow, and showing signs of the highly ranked player he was. He is not always going to go 10 for 10, but with his game stepping up. It just gives this team another weapon.
  13. Mike Mulville a transfer from Ohio last year played QB and LB and was conference player of the year before transferring to Cooper last year. Unfortunately he tore his hamstring before the first scrimmage last year and basically missed the whole regular season before starting to play in the playoffs. Which he was used only on defense for the playoffs since he still wasn’t fully healthy. So they would have him that could play QB if something happened to Cam. Also Coopers stud WR Isaiah Johnson was also a stud QB his whole life before switching to WR his sophomore year after he lost the QB battle to another stud QB in Cam O’Hara. So they have two other guys who start varsity at other positions that could be pretty good options to fill in at QB if O’Hara suffered an injury that takes him out longer than just a possession. Plus have Drew Hartman who was the JV QB last year that will be a Junior. Then also their QB from the freshman team last year.
  14. 🤣😂 rent free? You do realize Highlands folk are ones who brought up Cooper initially in this thread right? So I’m just commenting on how some Highlands fans are now making sarcastic comments like might as well mail the trophy to Cooper, just because some people have talked Cooper up. So just reminding you all of the fact how the game you all would be talking would be even more if situations were reversed. Like it or not in 5A in NKY going into this year, Cooper is an obstacle they have to get through and vice versa. Also you are coming at the wrong guy with this stuff. As other Highlands fans on here would say, I have said a few times that Highlands is the wild card team in 5A going into this year. They are loaded with younger talent, just depends how quickly they adjust to varsity play. Especially when the other 3 state semi-finalist from last year in Cooper, BG, and Owensboro return basically their whole teams, while Highlands lost basically all their starters from that semi final team. So it’s a little different getting through that at the varsity level, than it is dominating freshman and JV games. Not to mention you got other teams like South Warren, Southwestern, Pulaski County returns their whole team, and Scott County is always tough. So just will depend on how quickly that great young talent adjust to varsity and playing against teams that have already been doing it at the varsity level. Highlands is going to be very good, and if another top team takes them lightly then that team will be in trouble. Highlands as I have said all off season is the wild card team in 5A.
  15. To be fair, if the situation was reversed and Highlands just made state and basically return their whole team. I would say most of the Highlands faithful would be saying very similar, and not thinking a team that lost basically all their starters should be getting talked as highly as them, no matter how much younger talent that other team may have coming up. So while I don’t think he should be saying a team is scared, because that’s just silly. If the situation was reversed, can guarantee the Highlands faithful would be talking a very big game about this coming season.
  16. While I agree it is silly for him to say they are afraid of a team. Especially with all the young talent coming up for Highlands. However, bringing up a JV score is very pointless. Considering Coopers Varsity last year was JV aged kids with mostly sophomores and Junior and even one freshman starting varsity. So the JV team of Cooper that Highlands beat last year, is not the players they will be playing at the varsity level this year. Highlands JV players from last year will be going against basically the same players at Cooper that just made State last year.
  17. I don’t think they lose both and I do think they make a run in the SEV tourney. So at the end of the day I do still think they will be anywhere between a 3 and a 6. In a normal year I wouldn’t think that, but with everyone losing games in college basketball ball this year. Some of the losses that would have really dropped a team in the past, doesn’t change as much this year.
  18. Ugh well that sucked. Only good thing to take away from this is this team is starting to learn how to play at the end of tight games. They made plays tonight the last minute on both ends to put themselves in position to win. Just unfortunately the LSU player made a great pass after a getting blocked to get the game winner. This team is looking to be a team that could get up to as high as a 3 seed depending how they finish, or down to a 6 seed. I don’t think many teams will want to play UK. UK is a scary team in regards they literally could lose in the first round, or make a deep run.
  19. Congrats to coach Spencer! I am not to familiar of him. Where has he previously coached at?
  20. Which seats should be hot? I’m curious because I’m not sure which ones on this list should have their seats hot?
  21. Just in case it wasn’t obvious, I was being very sarcastic. I definitely believe Cal deserves a lot of credit. I believe Cal has developed a lot more players than people are willing to give him credit for.
  22. Nah Cal doesn’t coach anyone up. Every player than Cal has coached that made the NBA has came to him NBA ready. Even players that weren’t suppose to be one and done type players, that ended up first round picks wasn’t because of him. Possibly other coaches could get credit for doing such a thing, but Cal just recruits and doesn’t know how to make players better.
  23. Pitino is a great coach, but ouch this is a bad look IMO. This is from the NJ.com: “Do we have (edited) facilities?” he asked rhetorically. “Yes, we do. But we’re doing something about that.” He added: “But that’s not the reason we’re losing. Having (edited) facilities has nothing to do with not guarding.” His main complaint after this game and in the past has been his players’ lack of toughness and athleticism. “We are so unathletic that we can’t guard anybody without fouling,” he said. “For me, I’ve always enjoyed the first year, and I’m not gonna lie to you: This is the most unenjoyable experience of my lifetime. This has been so disappointing.” https://www.nj.com/sports/2024/02/after-latest-st-johns-loss-rick-pitino-laments-shtty-facilities-lack-of-toughness-and-lost-season-due-to-recruiting.html?outputType=amp
  24. I haven’t looked, but does anyone know how Damion Collins is doing for LSU this year? I know that’s where he transferred to after leaving UK after last year.
