  1. In a perfect world Thiero would come back, and also get Jaxson Robinson. I would love a starting lineup of. Butler Oweh Robinson Thiero Williams That lineup would be great defensively, and then bringing shooters in off the bench with Brea and Kriisa. Then Carr, Chandler, and Garrison.
  2. Definitely have some older good defensive players in this group.
  3. Which is I why I have acknowledged that the last 4 years hasn’t been good, and have even said numerous times on here that it was probably best for both parties to move on. Just cause I may defend Cal when people say and act like he is a horrible coach, or say things that may not be true. Doesn’t mean I don’t think it was it was time to move on. I think Cal was right the first year he got this job, the Ky basketball job is a max life of about ten years for a coach.
  4. Because they aren’t in regards to pure talent. Now it is a bunch of guys that do specific things well, and have experience playing college basketball. So just because I don’t think they are loaded with talent, I do think the makeup of the team should make them a very good team.
  5. I wouldn’t necessarily say loaded with talent. But they do have a lot of experienced players, which is an important thing in todays college basketball world.
  6. I read yours just fine, but maybe you missed my comment saying how you using the last “6 post seasons” in your argument is misleading. Considering one of those years the post season was cancelled and not even played. I know you narrative you are trying to tell. However, was just saying your numbers is over the last 5 post seasons, not 6. Which I even acknowledge the last 4 years was bad. So calculating the last 4 years is going to bring down the numbers for any other years you like to add with it. Just like the first 4 years overall would bring numbers way up. The best bet would be to take his first 4 years, and his last 4 years cancel them out. Then just look at the years in between. Which has a nice little mix. The 38 and 1 final four season, then a second round exit, an elite 8 loss on a last second shot to the National champs, then a sweet 16 loss, and another elite 8 loss in OT. Which then takes us up to the Covid post season cancellation year.
  7. Continuing to say 40% postseason winning % over the last 6 post seasons is very misleading. One of those post season's didn't even happen because it was cancelled. Which that was the year UK won the SEC by a record 4 games. The year before covid cancelled the post season, UK made the elite 8 and lost in OT. At the end of the day Calipari was very successful in terms of tournament play up until Covid. The last 4 seasons were bad though, so no argument there.
  8. People always seem to get that Cal was winning at a great clip and having post season success long before he ever came to UK and had rosters full of one and done at UK. Before he was at UK he was winning with rosters that weren't full of NBA talent. So he must be a lot better of a coach than some on here want to give him credit for, since it was successful long before he even came to UK. It is a reason why he along with Pitino are the only two coaches to take three teams to a final four.
  9. If any fan had an issue with the results by Cal up until Covid hit, then I am not sure what more a fan base could want from a coach. Up until Covid hit, Cal was doing exactly what a fanbase should want from a coach. Now after the covid ended the one post season, after that it was definitely not what is expected here at UK. The last 4 years were bad, let's not act like it was a lot of year where it was bad under him.
  10. Calipari has not produced in the last 4 years, no one can really argue that. Basically ever since covid cancelled the post season, when he had a team that won the SEC by 4 games. Ever since that year it went down hill. Basically covid seemed to be the end of his good run here, and the beginning of the bad.
  11. I would hope not, since we only have about 7 players on the roster currently.
  12. Agreed. Plus also had a great RAS score which has been a good indicator lately of lineman that end up doing well in the NFL.
  13. I would absolutely love to have Thiero back. I think he would fit in perfect with this system.
  14. So far Pope has added three very good tough defensive players. Now need a pg and a few more shooters for his offense.
  15. Not much production in regards to sacks, but suppose to be a good run defender. Some have said they believe he may do better in the NFL in converting pressures to sacks.
  16. Which is any different than say a punt return with a punt team running full speed 50 yards down field at the punt returner? I think you are over exaggerating this new kickoff rule anymore unsafe than any other play in a football game. The new kickoff rule allows more returns without the multiple huge collisions that caused many of the head injuries. Watching this kickoff done in the other leagues, there really wasn’t many big collisions at all between the returner and the kickoff team.
  17. Love it! I can’t wait for the season! Go Cats!
  18. Volson did end the year strong last year, so you may be right on that.
  19. Just because I say Pope only even got considered for this job is because he played at UK, doesn’t mean I don’t think he will do well. No really knows how he will do. I’m excited about him. Right now he has done a great job bringing excitement, has put together a good staff. Now just needs to get the players and results. He could be the next great coach in UK history. I'm just commenting on how him being a UK guy is 100% the reason why even got an interview. If it was based on resumes, there were a lot of guys that resumes were much better but not UK guys. If based on resume, then could look no further than two of three last coaches that knocked UK out. In Kansas State current coach and Saint Peters (now Sean Hall) coaches who also built programs up like Pope but also had tournament success to go with it. The Pope connection to UK is the only reason why he even got considered for this job over guys with better resumes.
  20. He is not wrong in the fact that him graduating and playing at UK is the only reason why he even got considered for the job. If he never played at UK, he would not have even gotten a look. It doesn't mean he can't do a great job, but him having played at UK is the only reason he got a look. Without having played at UK, his coaching resume wouldn't have gotten him a look at all.
  21. I do think Mims has a much higher upside than him though. Plus Mims Ras Score was very high, which has been a good predictor lately for lineman and how successful they are.
  22. With how the draft played out. Could have taken the top CB in the draft in Quinyon Mitchell. The top interior lineman in the draft in Graham Barton who probably would have started over Volson this year, and then would have been able to take over for Karras when I think his deal runs out after this season. WR Brian Thomas JR. OL- Troy Fautanu another one who probably would have started over Volson this year, and could move to tackle in a year if they wanted. So there were players available that could have helped and started right away. More so than a guy who only plays tackle, with only 8 games experience and will only most likely play if there is an injury to one of the Browns. As I said I truly think Mims may end up being the best tackle in the draft. So in the long run it probably will end up being a great pick. It is just more on how they keep going with guys in the first round hoping they help a lot in the future more so than this year. Which is what they have now done three years in a row with Dax Hill, Murphy and now him. With how it played out, I would have loved to have seen them trade back. Which obviously it takes another team to have to do that, so there might have not been anyone to trade back with. A guy I would have also loved is DT-Newton. A guy that would have been a big part of the D line rotation and possibly start. I honestly now hope they try to trade up in the second round to get him.
  23. Probably more 12 personnel with Mayer on the line and Brock split out.
  24. Agreed. Just seems like the Bengals don’t get first year impact guys in the first round like other teams do. In the last 13 drafts, 8 of the bengals first round picks have not started and not played much as rookies. The Bengals in the last three years in their Super Bowl window have now drafted 3 guys in the first round in Dax Hill, Murphy, and now Mims that were all guys that were not going to start and not even projected to play much their rookie years. So it’s not as much about not liking Mims as it is just the Bengals approach with first round picks through the years. Mims definitely has the potential to be a stud tackle and as I said possibly end up being the best tackle in this draft class.
  25. I was hoping for Murphy or Newton. Mims though had the potential to end up being the best tackle from this draft. Just kind of frustrating though how the Bengals somehow find a way to take first round picks that most likely won’t even start or play their rookie year. They are in a Super Bowl window right now and the last two years with their first round picks they have taken guys that was more for the future rather than immediate help now.
