  1. Same trick play the Bengals ran this year that got picked off. One of those things where a coach looks like a genius when it works, and looks like an idiot when it doesn’t lol.
  2. Honestly Cal seemed to lean into having more experience players the last few years IMO and didn’t accomplish much with it. I think he went back more to what he has had success with on this team. Which even though it’s been a struggle the last few weeks, I think this team definitely is very capable of making a run. Every year we see teams make runs that you wouldn’t think at this point. So I don’t think it’s done, because I think this team will show it’s not once the tournament starts.
  3. I don’t think they should concede to it either. However it is now February and they have seemed to have gotten worse or at least given up more points since they started having two big guys on the floor at the same time since they got healthy. Having two big guys on the floor at the same time really has not done much at all to slow the other team. Theiro at the 4 with 3 guards and any of the big guys IMO is their best lineup.
  4. Honestly I think the opposite. With his skill set, I think he would be better off with the floor more spaced with a smaller lineup. Theiro at 4 with him at the 5. He is a very good passer and spread them out and let them go. It’s not like they are stopping people anyways on defense, so him being soft doesn’t change much than what we are currently seeing.
  5. UK is currently in the 20s in the NET. They would have to almost lose out to fall far enough down in the NET to miss the tournament. Let’s not forget all teams across basketball are losing many games this year.
  6. True or honestly once Mitchell is healthy go back to what they were doing at the beginning when all the bigs were hurt. Mitchell at the 5 and Theiro at the 4.
  7. I don’t disagree. We are in February now, you can keep working on your man defense in practice. At this point though you also now need to say we at least have to try to mix something else in when things clearly aren’t working. No reason not to try at least some zone now to make teams at least have to do something different.
  8. I mean considering this is Brooks 5th year playing in college, it’s not surprising he is having his best year now.
  9. Defense once again not good, and the biggest things in these losses is this team has just got completely beat physically. that's the been the story so far, teams that have played physical have given this team issues.
  10. Honestly I would take those shooting percentages from the opposing team every game. The big thing was all the fouls and 22 free throws that Vandy made for why they scored so much. Still a lot to work on though.
  11. Defense was again was no where to be found. People won’t get any argument from me in regards to complaining about Cal not making adjustments on defense. At this point there is no reason not to at least try a few different things like a zone to see if that helps at all.
  12. I think Sheppard would be fine with it, but yeah Dillingham probably would be all over the place lol
  13. Agreed. It’s not a coincidence the Cats are 0 and 2 when he has been out.
  14. Well that sucked. The Cats are now 0 and 2 on the season when Sheppard has started and both of those losses were at home. Sheppard has had great numbers in those games, but unfortunately they have lost them both. Which Sheppard is probably the smartest player on the team, but this is now two games where he has had completely boneheaded plays at the end of the game. The first was fouling a three point shooter when up four at the end of a game. Then today completely losing track of his guy and stepping inside when the team was up 3. For my zone guys on here, I do agree Cal at this point needs to at least start trying to mix in some zone. We are now about to hit February and even with having a shot blocker down low, the defense still keeps getting lit up. So at this point need to at least try something new and mix in some zone.
  15. I agree I think we see the offense get back to playing well tonight.
  16. Off topic but the upset’s in the top 10 keep happening this year. North Carolina lost on the road to a team below 500 last night, and Tennessee lost at home to South Carolina. With wins now over UK and Tennessee I think South Carolina will soon be ranked.
  17. Glad to hear they are able to do freshman only now, that’s important for a big school like them to consistently field full freshman teams. I know they were a Froshmore team for a few years even before the new staff. So that’s good that their numbers are starting to be consistently up now.
  18. Agreed. I think we have reached the part of the season now where the guys that are producing and playing defense will be the guys playing. He definitely made that statement yesterday. He may still give more guys minutes in the first half to see how they are playing, but come second half he is going to roll with the guys doing what he wants.
  19. Have they shown their uniforms yet? I think it would look sharp to something similar to what the New England throw back uniforms look like. Would go perfect with that helmet.
  20. Which are those things you mentioned are all things many schools were dealing with long before Boone started to have to deal with it after Ryle and Cooper were built. Yet other schools have been able to survive it and also some have even found ways to be successful with it. Yet many comments seem to suggest it is hopeless. Which the kids hear all these things, as many of these things are said by people on here but also social media sites like football groups on Facebook, etc. All people are doing though are giving them players excuses for why they can’t be successful, which is the last thing they need to hear.
  21. Zip code as you say definitely matters in regards to if a job may be more challenging to be successful than other jobs, that is true. Zip code does not mean it is impossible though. As schools with similar and even harder circumstances have found success in the classroom and playing field. People are wrong if they don’t think the job is harder. People are also wrong though if they think it’s impossible. Which stating those reasons and allowing those students/players to use that as excuses to not be successful is the last thing they need to hear in those circumstances.
