  1. As a P&R regular, IMO LN is VERY overrated.
  2. Is this one of those threads where all the middle-aged people talk about the problems of the younger generation?
  3. A "source" told me that there is no chance Maile gets the job, although I sure hope that he does. Irregardless, Murphy and Maile would both be good hires
  4. Is he from NKY, or a transfer? What's his name? Not making accusations, but there ain't too many 7 footers in Newport!
  5. I knew I clicked on this thread for a reason. Thanks for letting us think of better times, NEERFAN HHS wins but by less than 7. I'll say 28-24.
  6. He is a sophomore and has been attending the CovCath basketball open gyms.
  7. I played for Dick and I'd like to hear your reasons as to why he wouldn't be a good choice. I can handle it. It is a bit questionable that you have reasons but won't share them...
  8. St. Pius had a boys' program starting up when I was there (8 years ago), and still does. I wish I had stuck with volleyball...
  9. 1. I'm not basing any my opinions of the Cincinnati.com article- everything that I know was said to me by Luke (or his grandfather). They didn't pretty anything up for the public, unless they prettied it up to me as well. 2. I can assure you that they knew how the process worked from the beginning. They knew the fact that he was asking for so much would make his draft selection drop, and they continued asking for that same amount of money. The plan was always to go to college unless he was offered what he oringinally asked for, and no one was willing to give it (yet). The standard process is MLB players select these guys, watch and negotiate all summer, and then at the deadline (August 17th) offer a fraction of what the players have been asking for, and the player will normally desperately accept. There was none of this wavering from Luke (before the draft or during the summer). Since Luke wasn't wavering, and he had already committed to school, his draft position tumbled. However, it is clear that despite his draft position, MLB teams know his talent level- closer to the 1st round then the 43rd. In 3 or 4 years, Luke will come out with a degree and teams coming after him much, much sooner.
  10. If you are NOT saying that Mr. Maile lied, but that "disclosing a public record of a legal document" would reveal different figures, then what are you implying Mr. Maile did? The fact is that Luke and his father have no motive to lie. Why would they?
  11. :thumb: That is part of it as well. I also hated how the refs called me for traveling because I pump faked 6 times before I shot the ball. Too many whistles...
  12. Better. Off pain meds. At home resting.
  13. From the Tulsa Beacon, April 30th, 2009: Oklahoma State basketball coach Travis Ford said Trevor Setty of Maysville, Ky., will join the Cowboys as a “preferred” walk-on. Ford said Setty will enroll for summer classes and participate in summer ball with the Cowboys. The 6-foot-8 Setty averaged 14.9 points and shot 35.8 percent from 3-point range his senior season at Mason County High School in 2007-08. Setty initially signed with Georgetown College, an NAIA school in Kentucky, but did not play in any games with the team last season.
  14. Ruptured Spleen AND a lacerated kidney...he was urinating blood but is not anymore. He may or may not need surgery to take his spleen out, and if he does he may miss football and basketball season. We'll see.....
  15. Ruptured spleen, if I'm not mistaking. I hope Mike has a quick recovery.
  16. The couple of times a year that I see him (and get to whoop him on the court ) he normally mentions you.....
  17. Getting your info from Rick Broering, GT? :D
  18. Are any of them related to Greg Rice?
  19. Welcome to the site oldjams.....thanks for the information.
  20. I got Machinot as the Rubio- a young athletic point guard who lacks a great shot but is pass-first and full of potential.
  21. Evans will primarily play a 2. He is a player who has the ability to get very, very hot at times. He can shoot the 3 and is also an athletic player. Clearly he is readjusting to playing basketball again as opposed to one-on-one, but there is no lack of talent. Pauly and Maschinot will primarily be the PG's, but they also play very, very well together. Pauly is the Jonny Flynn to Machinot's Rubio (which are actually pretty accurate comparisons, relative to the high school level). We'll see how the experiment goes!
  22. Both would be great in Hearsay's categories of "Team Warmup" or "Team Entry" music. :thumb:
