  1. I've never owned & operated a Toshiba so I can't say for sure. Just having a little fun with Blue Magic.
  2. A friend told me that he wants the Bengals to get Gilyard, and while I've only watched UC play 4 or 5 times to past 2 years, he seems to have a better grasp on things than anyone else: Yeah it sucks what BK did, but I can't blame him.
  3. You have to figure Coach L is hating it this year...is getting scoring from the big guys really "Listerman basketball".
  4. Or you can buy 3 Toshiba's and see what lasts longer.
  5. My parents got me this as a Christmas present a few weeks ago (for $330, now $299), so I haven't opened it yet...but a 15" Toshiba with Windows 7 and Intel Processor for under $350 is an absolute STEAL in my mind.
  6. I only googled it, because I generally don't believe what anyone on this site says (probably why no one bothers to give links), but, anyways, President Obama never said that, it was Valerie Jarrett who said that.
  7. UK takes an early lead, then let's IU back into the game, then takes a large lead with about 12 minutes left in the 2nd half, then let's them hang around behind 10-12 points the rest of the game. UK wins by 13. UK 81 IU 68
  8. And would that mean Charlie Strong as the "next-man-up" for the Cinci job, and Charlie Weis as the next Defensive Coordinator for the Florida job? No sources...just thoughts....I don't see Urban Meyer leaving Florida, and I don't see BK leaving Cincinnati for any job other than ND (therefore I don't see BK being head coach at Florida next year in the event Meyer does leave).
  9. I hate Noah, but I'm with him on this one. I'm really starting to dislike LBJ.
  10. Some of you all need to check out Godwin's Law. "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."
  11. I was present at a speech by Bill Ford, a few weeks ago, he said the profit was to a few factors, namely: 1) The fact that the average man on the street is rooting for Ford because the government owns GM now 2) Cutting personnel and expenses 3) Most importantly, because of the R&D that Ford has been doing for years, especially in the market for environmentally-friendly cars. When Bill came back to Detroit from Princeton in the early 1970's preaching about environmentalism, they called him crazy and no one listened. However, now his warnings (and his devotion to it) are paying off. I'm the last person to be coined an "environmentalist"- not because I don't care about the environment, but because I'm not willing to harm the rest of the economy for burdensome regulations based on flawed data. However, I give all the credit to Bill Ford and FMC for recognizing the shift in consumer trends. My biggest problem is that the government is rewarding GM's shortsightedness on environmental issues, which apparently is a big cause for President Obama's administration, by propping them up.
  12. Since the thread is over, and I've been gone, I'm exercising my right to mention abortion. I speak from a Christian perspective, but I believe it comes from any ethical (even non-religious) perspective- it is not ethical to take the life of another human being, except when it is the last resort to saving the life/lives of others. In the case of abortion, it is only ethical to prematurely remove the baby from the womb if there are no other means to saving the life of the mother. Every other possible option must be taken to save the life of both. In the case of the death penalty, it is only ethical to execute the offender when there are no other ways to protect society. Every other possible option- including 24/7 solitary confinement- must be taken. Now, of course, the standard of living in different societies worldwide comes into play here. Poorer countries (that do not have access to advanced neo-natal medical care or prison systems capable of isolating the criminal) will have to resort to abortion and capital punishment more often than wealthy countries. However, in the United States, abortion and the death penalty should be so rarely used that it is an act of last resort, and not an issue . Death penalty as punishment and abortion for convenience are unethical and incompatible with natural law, IMO.
  13. I wish I cheated. Check my FB status and you'll understand why. In reality, I cheated in high school, mostly out of immaturity and laziness, but also because college is so much easier than CovCath was, I don't have any reason to risk it now. Literally, the hardest part about college is staying sober enough to make it to class the next morning (or in the evening). If you go to class every day, have a pulse, and put in maybe 3-4 hours the night before the exam, you should be able to pull off at least a B in 90% of college classes, IMO.
  14. Copying is soooooo high school. Performance-enhancing drugs (adderall) is the college way to cheat.
  15. Children of Men is what I was thinking of 2008 (or maybe 2007)
  16. Y tu mama tambien is the director who did Babel, correct?
  17. This team is currently within 7.5 games of both the Wild Card and a division title. However, their RBI leader only has 80 RBI's, meaning (in all likelihood) no one on the team is going to reach even 90 RBI's. What team is it?
  18. Has anyone else seen In Bruges? I really started this thread because I wanted to talk about it.
  19. First time since TOP has been clocked that a team won while having the ball for under 15 minutes...watching Peyton make audibles at the line is awesome.
  20. I have to agree. Believe it or not, I actually watched 2 or 3 episodes of America's Got Talent by random chance this year, and, while I like Skinner's story (and I thought his first performance, the Garth Brooks song, was very good) he simply doesn't have the vocal range or stage presence, IMO, to make it in the music business.
  21. Let's give some love to some of those lesser known films. I'll start: In Bruges- starring Colin Farrel, Brendon Gleeson, and Ralph Fiennes- comedy/drama about two hitmen taking a vacation in Bruges, Belgium. Very profane language but very, very funny, but can switch from humorous to serious in a matter of seconds. Won some foreign film award. Just a great, great movie. Miller's Crossing- an early Coen movie starring a typical Coen cast including Turturro and Buscemi. As artsy as most of their films but with a coherent plot as well. Haven't watched it in a few years, but if I recall correctly, it is about a guy rising up through the ranks in the mafia.
  22. Correct. Only two players have ever had a 50 steals, 50 doubles season, one was in the 1990's and one was in the 1910's. Anyone know?
  23. No, although this player is the only other 40-40 member who never admitted to PED's.
  24. Who is the only player ever to reach 40 home runs, 40 stolen bases and 40 doubles all in one season
