  1. I meant that I'll reserve judgment on the "big man offense"
  2. Here are some "dilemmas" that you all can help me sort out: WR: (pick 3) Roddy White, Wes Welker, Vincent Jackson, Hines Ward, Chris Chambers QB: Do I bench Tom Brady for Jason Campbell? Probably not, but Campbell's been on fire, NYG is giving up points to QB's like its their job, and Brady's been subpar.
  3. I'll reserve judgment until I see a few games...but as noted earlier:
  4. In re: to Trevor Wellbrock... I haven't seen CovCath play this season, but from watching/playing with Trevor over the past few years, his biggest problem is that he settles for jumpshots too much. I assume that he is primarily concentrating on scoring down low, and dominating as an (expected)result. For those who have seen the Colonels- is this assumption correct?
  5. I wanted to respond to this post after looking back. For something local, Rand Paul founded the Kentucky Taxpayers United in 1994. As for why Dr. Paul didn't start smaller...I think his main grudge is with the Federal Government, and, as his site says, "his entrance into politics is indicative of his life’s work: a desire to diagnose problems, and provide practical solutions." Also, on the bolded, now that Rand is leading Grayson in the polls, why doesn't Grayson step aside and look elsewhere, so they both can be in office? Since you know Trey, maybe you can suggest it, because I think I could vote for Grayson, if he wasn't against such a good candidate.
  6. He got two years of guaranteed money- IMO, he made the right choice.
  7. My overall record is close (and, assuming we win 2 out of the next 3, which is likely, will be exactly right). My game-by-game is pretty bad (see above).
  8. I've really enjoyed this season- the introduction of the Trinity Killer gave a whole new twist to the show that drew me in- but what a shocker at the end. Kind of makes me wonder where they will go with it now.
  9. I'm not disputing that is how it was in real life. I'm just saying that Bullock has an enormous amount of screen time, and that arguably the movie is more about her character than Oher. I wouldn't be suprised. They portrayed him as extremely stupid.
  10. 1. A Christmas Story 2. Christmas Vacation 3. Elf
  11. Yes, I spoke with him on air for about 3 minutes. He was actually nicer to me then he is to most of his callers. Probably because I told him that, like him, I'm a right-leaning Catholic originally from Long Island. I told him that I agree with most of the principles that he stands for, but the way that he addresses those topics makes his claim of being a "conservative" seem hypocritical, since the R's haven't been much for fiscal conservatism for a long time, if ever.
  12. Agreed. Actually, I called into his show about a month ago and told him that on air. He claimed to be critical of Bush..... You sound like Hannity. I'm critical of nearly every move that President Obama makes- especially on economic and social issues- but, IMO, the last place in the world where President Obama would make comments like this to "make himself look good" is in front of the Nobel Peace Prize committee. I've read reports that this is easily the most pro-war speech given in acceptance of the award, ever. I agree that President Obama is a master of PR and his speeches often say a whole lot of nothing that sounds good. But for one reason or another, President Obama made a speech in front of an idealist peace committee that touched upon the necessity of military force. If he was making this speech to the soldiers, I could see what you are saying. But IMO this is the last place that a pro-war speech "makes himself look good." Conservatives and progressives alike are generally praising the speech, but I am angered by the progressive blogs I've read that keep calling it "Bushian"- if the neocons like it, the progressives have to hate it. Can't we all just take President Obama's words and actions independently of the party line he's supposed to follow (in our minds), and judge them according to our own philosophical musings?
  13. I thought it was Anderson's fight, but it may not have been. Now that I think of it, I think it may have been Fedor's fight.
  14. I think I watched him do MMA- Silva's fight I believe- and thought it was bad as well.
  15. I guess it's not the difficulty, its the laziness that Blue Magic touched upon. Simple things like struggling to find Copy and Paste (as well as the whole right-click thing) aren't worth it to someone like me who uses the computer so little.
  16. Saw it tonight. Pretty good, but kind of absurd how much screen time was allotted to Sandra Bullock. All other characters were minor.
  17. Hannity didn't seem to like it- calling it a PR move- but Gingrich and Palin gave the President some praise.
  18. Sounds like a LOT of praise coming from more conservative circles on this one: Transcript But as a head of state sworn to protect and defend my nation, I cannot be guided by their examples alone. I face the world as it is, and cannot stand idle in the face of threats to the American people. For make no mistake: Evil does exist in the world. A non-violent movement could not have halted Hitler's armies. Negotiations cannot convince al Qaeda's leaders to lay down their arms. To say that force may sometimes be necessary is not a call to cynicism -- it is a recognition of history; the imperfections of man and the limits of reason. I raise this point, I begin with this point because in many countries there is a deep ambivalence about military action today, no matter what the cause. And at times, this is joined by a reflexive suspicion of America, the world's sole military superpower. But the world must remember that it was not simply international institutions -- not just treaties and declarations -- that brought stability to a post-World War II world. Whatever mistakes we have made, the plain fact is this: The United States of America has helped underwrite global security for more than six decades with the blood of our citizens and the strength of our arms Thoughts?
  19. I guess part of my "problem" with Macs is just that. I'm only on the computer for a small number of tasks- email, internet, and note-taking in class...I don't want to have to learn a whole new system.
  20. The list begins and ends with one word: Gus. Gus Johnson, as touted by Jim Schue and others on this board, is the most electrifying broadcaster around nowadays. March Madness is a blast with him.
  21. Just watched it for the first time....what a way to get to ready for finals!
