Newport Basketball Player to Cov Cath

My son is a Sophomore at Cov Cath and said that there is a new kid that transfered from Newport and supposely played Basketball and Football. Does anyone know who this is and have any information about him.

I believe Brandon Tyler transferred to Cov Cath from Newport.

 

I don't really have any info on him though...other than the knowledge that he did, indeed, play football and basketball at Newport, that is.

I could think of a number of reasons!

Never seen a respoinse to this. How does he look, or for that matter, how do the guys look in the open gym? Who is looking good? Who has shown the most improvement over last year? Anyone know?

I was at a few open gyms, but I only saw Brandon Tyler at one of them, and he didn't play much while I was there.

 

As for the whole team, they look fine. Jake Thelen is a force- he's got a great outside shot for his size, but he is too willing to stay on the wing (which may be a necessity considering Coach L's minimalist attitude towards post offense). Max Pauly is an excellent point guard, leader, and distributor. Drives and dishes well. CCH will go as far as those two- beyond them, they have plenty of capable role players.

Coach L told me Mattie Klein is looking great and when he gets into basketball shape, he will help. As Coach L told me "a lot of people remember Mitch and Max but forgot about how much Mattie could have helped out last year"!

From what I know of that kid, is he didnt start for Newports freshman team, and not sure how good he is. I did see Newport play a few times last year. So I can't really say how good or if he would help them. I asked a friend of mine about him and football, and he was hurt last year.

Hopefully the team will be able to stay healthy, and the experience the guys gained last year, even though it was a very rough season, will help this year. I look for a lot of improvement over last year.

 

With Mattie, Brandon and Trey, there are at least three players who did not playing last year, looking to play this year. So, wonder which guys that played last year might not make it this year. Could be interesting
