jonathan.fraysure Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/2009/07/las-vegas-day-one.html Mason County junior-to-be Treg Setty gets my early pick for Most Improved Player in the state of Kentucky. Wow, he's really maturing and growing into a nice player. Setty is playing for the Nashville Celtics 16s and played with a broken right hand and is just coming off a broken jaw, but he was still impressive. He said he has a number of schools showing interest, including Xavier, Oregon State and Oklahoma State.

Is s,o could someone supply a link that shows him on their roster?
cch5432 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Is is his brother still walking on at Oklahoma State or was that just a big rumor? Is s,o could someone supply a link that shows him on their roster? From the Tulsa Beacon, April 30th, 2009: Oklahoma State basketball coach Travis Ford said Trevor Setty of Maysville, Ky., will join the Cowboys as a “preferred” walk-on. Ford said Setty will enroll for summer classes and participate in summer ball with the Cowboys. The 6-foot-8 Setty averaged 14.9 points and shot 35.8 percent from 3-point range his senior season at Mason County High School in 2007-08. Setty initially signed with Georgetown College, an NAIA school in Kentucky, but did not play in any games with the team last season.

All In Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Heard he wasn't going to be on the team now. Maybe attend a Jr. College. Surely there is someone on here from Mason County that knows for sure, I mean Oklahoma State is a big deal even if it is a walk-on. Is he going to junior college in Oklahoma,Kentucky? Sorry to get off the topic on Treg Setty, he should be a beast this year. He disapointed in the regional tournament last year, should be dominant this year, hopefully even against good competition. Yes, people from Mason County do know, but alot of it is speculation and nothing is offical. It is not our place to share information that isn't 100% accurate. Treg is due for a Monster year. d-dawg Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Why try to discredit a kid for getting noticed? I didn't try to discredit Trevor in any way. It is just a fact that Oklahoma State sends out a lot of letters to high school prospects. I know 2 boys from one high school in the 10th region that have received letters from Okla St. Trevor could play somewhere if he decides to buckle down and make an effort. No offense meant at all. He's a fine kid. I think Treg will get a major offer if he keeps improving.

d-dawg Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 There is a HUGE difference between getting a letter and getting an offer to walk on... Why"WALK ON" when you can go somewhere and have your education paid for playing basketball ,that is unless your people's wealthy and it doesn't matter. Are walk on's on an athletic scholarship, don't think so.
