  1. The truth really does hurt sometimes!
  2. Our situation just wasn't just playing time. My sons coach was very intense and expected alot out of his players. This particular coach ended up teaching my son a life lesson. You have to work hard and listen for everything you get. My son learned that he had to work hard in the business world and if he didnt listen and learn from his bosses/employees he would feel their wrath. Unfortunately, parents today don't understand there is more to coaching student athletes than basketball, baseball, football or whatever sport they are coaching. They are trying to make the kids better people for their future. In a lot of ways coaches are better parents and better role models than their actual parents.
  3. I have had a situation similar happen. I told my son to handle it with the coach. I didn't think it was the best interest of my son or the team to handle it myself. I was not at practice everyday to see what went on and if my son deserved to play more or to see his attitude on the court. Honestly, the bottom line is this- Most parents put their sons on a level they truely aren't on. Some kids have very bad attitudes on the court. They listen to their parents too much who bash their coaches constantly and think they know more than the coaching staff. This is a main reason that kids today are so uncoachable. I told my son to work harder and listen better. This seemed to work out the problems with the coach. Unfortunately, this isn't the way things are handled today and things escalate like they did with Coach Niemi at Ryle. I wonder how much Coach Niemi has done for this one particular kid through the year with basketball and also outside of basketball. If I were a coach today I would totally distance myself from the parents and only worry about the players and what happens to them.
  4. The parents behind this are pathetic. You have done your own kids more harm than good. I really like your chances against CovCath on Monday. Good Luck to Coach Niemi; sounds like you need it with your idiotic parents.
  5. Parents are the worst sore losers out there. Coaches try to teach their kids to lose with style and class. Parents need to learn from their kids sometimes and not vice versa.
  6. Parents filing grievances. Parents acting like idiots in the stands. Parents living through their sons/daughters lives. Parents going behind coaches backs to athletic directors and administration. This whole parent problem is getting worse. It's ridiculous! Ryle's superintendent should be ashamed of himself and embarrassed. This is why coaches get out of the business. Parent problems are the main reason we have seen some great coaches leave the last few years. This is the main reason why most coaches don't want to have any relationship with the parents. They want close relationships with the players and could care less what the parents say or do.
  7. Congratulations to the Birds and Breds. What a game! Two of the best coaches in the 9th battling it out to the end. The 9th region tournament should be very interesting!
  8. :thumb: :dancingpa Agreed! I imagine the staff and players aren't satisfied yet. There is a bigger fish to fry this Friday. The #1 seed out of this district could get a great draw in the Fieldhouse.
  9. Hard to figure who you might be referring too. :sssh:
  10. I doubt Senior nights have implications on seedings.
  11. They should. If they dont they should be addressed.
  12. Conner was up 17 at half. NCC picked up the defense the 2nd half.
  13. Agree 100%. Leave a head coaching job to become a JV coach.
  14. Well now its not too hard to figure this one out is it? :thumb:
  15. Some people may think I'm crazy but there needs to be an attitude adjustment for one particular player. He brings the whole team down. His actions against NCC were embarassing. Yelling at his own players, mouthing the whole game. I am really surprised he gets away with what he does. He isn't good enough to run his mouth like that.
  16. Highlands is too strong. HC will play tough at home for a while. HHS 66 HC 57
  17. I can't agree with you more. Then all the parents want to do is complain about the coach and try to get him replaced. It amazes me how parents and/or fans know who should be playing and how much playing time they should get without sitting through practice every day. People live their lives through their kids too much! It's sad.
  18. He is off the team from what I hear. Walked off the court against Holmes. Not a very smart idea with 4 games left in your senior season. Why are todays players so uncoachable?
  19. NCC wins without Heil. NCC is on a roll with wins over Holmes and Brossart this week. Did Brossart peak too early? This final is really surprising to me.
  20. They beat LexCath's JV team during the football season.
