Top Rotations in NKY?
Beechwood always has a good staff! No doubt this year will be no different.

Top Rotations in NKY?
I know this is NKY, but Pikeville in EKY has a very good starting rotation! Probably the best in the 15th at least! Chase Huffman-Sr. Justin Anderson-Sr. McKenzie Carter-Jr.

15th Regional Pairings and Predictions
I think everyone is underestimating Pikeville! Yes I am biased, and yes I am praying for them to win, but they are really clicking as a team right now! You can bet that the Expo will be packed tonight in maroon! They have thrown aside their dissapointing season and are looking forward to the challenge tonight! Not saying they are going to win, but their WILL be an excellent game tonight at eight! Gool luck Panthers and do us all proud!!!:ylsuper: :dancingpa :dancingpa

Mason Dixon Games
I agree! Max Pafunda from Pikeville was placed into the last heat in the 55m dash, and no one was even close! He should have been in a better heat!

Baseball movies
I love the Sandlot and The Natural! Cobb was too explicit for me!

Technical Foul Question
Thats what I was thinking.

Technical Foul Question
What is the rule about a technical being called?

Baseball Equipment....Players Prefer which
I HATE Diamond baseballs! The laces are horrible! There is only a couple places that I have had to use these balls, but when I do, I honestly believe my performance suffers!

Fantasy Baseball
I'm in! Live draft might be a problem for some though! I know I have practice every day after school...I know al least a few others who would have the same problem.

Increasing baseball interest
You know what though, that doesn't bother me at all. For several years now, baseball has been the one losing kids to other sports...I'm glad to see some kids picking baseball over football, and basketball! I would LOVE to see 90 kids at our try-outs this year! We will probably see somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-25...

Pikeville 48 East Ridge 42
Only that the Panthers played pretty good, and not so much for the Warriors! A lot of sloppy play and mistakes! Early in the game Kyle Fletcher (40) and Curtis Williams (4) played pretty well. For the panthers Tim Champlin, Matt Clevinger, Tim Honaker, Jacob Sword, and Robert Boyd all played well! A great team performance for the panthers! Boyd suffered a concussion in the second half...Still waitin' for the call on his condition...Nothing serious I'm pretty sure. Talked to him on the way to the hospital. Officials were disturbingly bad, but hey, its the 15th region what can you expect! And let me clarify, I didn't mean bad in any certain direction...just bad!

Line up's
Chase Huffman will be in the defensive and offensive lineup this year! I expect him to hit fifth or sixth, and will play left or right. Right would be the best option for him, but we need to see if he can handle the intense sun in right field here at Davis Park.

Raceland 44 Pikeville 42
The Panthers played bad. They were lazy and cold! I would like to point out that yes the refs were bad but at one point Pikeville had 6 fouls to Racelands 1. And then the game ended pretty much even with foul counts!

15th Region -- 2006 Preseason Top 10
Watch out for AC! I'm telling you there going to be good this year!

Conditioning?
Thanks a lot FB! I tell you what, though, without the example that I have been given from watching people like yourself and others around Pikeville's program, I would have never learned what it means to want to win and be the best you can be! So Thanks for that! Good luck to you and Yours this year Firebird, you KNOW that I'm behind you every step of the way!

Conditioning?
I agree completely, FB...The proper combination of weight training (including weight balls and medicine balls) is essential to training and maintaining a good core and solid body! I know in my specific example I messed up with a weight ball! I used to throw with it right before I went on the mound to get my arm good and loose, and for a time or two it was fine, but for whatever reason, the more I did it, the more adjustment time it took for my arm to get used to the regular baseball. I eventually quit using the ball in that circumstance because it was starting to take me an inning or two just to get in a rhythm with a normal ball! I am a firm believe in the Arm-Strong product. It is a simulated baseball with three different bands to attach to it, differing in resistance for stretching, building muscle, and conditioning. I use it year round! At least once a day, everyday of the year, I get out the Arm-Strong and two a few sets! It isn't really a major strain on the arm either! Oh yeah, and don't let me forget! The most important thing a pitcher/player can do is to run and get into good shape! If you come out in February with a halfway in shape body, you will be miles in front of most of your competition! Its been said three times in this thread, but it IS the most important thing you can do!

New lights in PIkeville
Easy...Painstville isn't that bad...Sure it could use some work, but I could imagine some worse places to play. Lets just hope this installation doesn't cost the Panthers ANOTHER season!
-
Conditioning?
At Pikeville, we have had optional workouts everyday where you can come out and throw with the team, and you can also do some conditioning. :thumb: We have been throwing for over a month.

New lights in PIkeville
One of Pikeville Baseball's biggest fans is on the city commission.
-
New lights in PIkeville
The lights going in will take about six weeks...and they haven't started yet! Its just like the city to wait until the season starts to do a project like this! I think it probably will interfere with our season...

HOW MANY PITCHES
I agree xtra. There are so many variables that I would never put a specific count on a pitcher. Unless under some special situation like a tournament or an important game coming up etc.
