Raceland 44 Pikeville 42

Featured Replies

Rams win it on a last second put back by Hatfield. Raceland turned the defense up in the 4th quarter. They entered the 4th trailing by 10. Rams get solid game from Osborn with 14(mostly 4th quarter) and Tolliver 11. Also Hatfield 9 and Sparks 8. Unbelievable win considering the officials. They were the worst I've seen. The Pikeville radio guy actually apologized to some of us Raceland fans.

The Panthers played bad. They were lazy and cold!

I would like to point out that yes the refs were bad but at one point Pikeville had 6 fouls to Racelands 1. And then the game ended pretty much even with foul counts!

What is even more unbelievable is how that Pikeville led Raceland the whole game until the last second shot. The Panthers were playing without two starters! Not having their point guard must have killed them. They aren't very talented at full strength, let alone with a depleted line-up. I am surprised an 11-win team like Raceland didn't win this one handedly! If Pikeville ever learns how to hold a lead down the stretch, they will be very dangerous.

Maybe Raceland played lazy and cold also, following a 2 hour bus ride. Neither team had preparation time since this was a late season addition for both teams. The All A Classic is a bad situation in this aspect. Teams scrambling to find games to play after losing in the All A region tourney. I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in this game for either team, it was good for both teams to find playing time to help prepare for District and Regional Tournaments.

I am especially happy to get an opportunity to rub in a Raceland win on my Father-In-Law. He is a Pikeville grad who was All-State in Basketball and Football and is in the PHS Hall of Fame.

Good Job Ramblers.

The fouls were never 6-1 in Raceland's favor. Raceland had a starter on the bench in foul trouble 3 minutes into the game. Like I said, your radio announcer apologized IN ADVANCE for the refs. :walk:

Yes, the refs were horrible, but they were consistantly bad both ways. Like you said, the game was just scheduled Thursday and the refs came from the bottom of the barrel. Not a good game from any standpoint except for both teams getting a game to prevent a long layoff. Both Raceland and Pikeville will be dangerous in March!
