It's a little slow on the forums, so I thought I would start just a fun thread. I have many great memories from HS football, so I'lll share a few and hope you all join in. I played on a freshman team that had only 12 players and our local newspaper nicknamed us the Dirty Dozen. We went 5-0 undefeated, untied, and unscored upon. We went to an away game and my cousin was one of the captians, and we kept telling everyone to check their equipment bags to make sure they had everthing. My cousin was especially vocal about this, so when we get there and dress out he had forgotten his helmet. When we subbed with our one player we would take off our helmet and give to whoever was going in the game. We had a bench clearing brawl with Henry Clay in a jv game my sophomore year and my same cousin chased one of their players around our parking lot. My saddest memory we lost the state championship to Paris 15-14 in the third game of the season. We went 9-1 and they went undeafeted to the state champion:ohbrother:ship.

To lazy to look it up does anyone know. In your opinion does it put players at smaller schools at a disadvantage?

We had one in March that weighs about 18 pounds now. We're pretty bummed they just moved to Tacoma with the Army.

Last I checked we live in a free country. So if I want my kid to play for a certain coach, pay my tuiton, move into the district or whatever is required there should be no penalties involved. There still need to be rules, but common sense needs to be applied. As far as athletics only being a perk I played on teams with guys that wouldn't have completed high school if not for playing sports.

I've gone on rants on here before about the AAU being out of control, and all these players ending up with handlers that have nothing to do with their schools. GT has stated several times Tubby didn't like playing the AAU recruiting game and that contributed to the drop off in recruiting. I can't say that I disagree with Tubby on that issue. A kids choice in my opinion should involve the player, parent, and some guidance from the high school coach. It's the high school coaches and parents that make sure players are eligible and put in the most time with them. I guess the surprise news on O.J and Wall's handler have yanked my chain again and I just needed to vent.

If you can win at Berea you can coach. He will do a fine job.

Coach Graham's dad lives in Frankfort. That may have something to do with it.

I'm sorry I didn't realize the media was more important than coaching a game. I've been around football my entire life and the only sideline incidents I have seen have involved chain crews not being able to get out of the way. Again most officails as long as you're not in the way allow you to coach, but their are a few that are obsessed with where the coaches are standing. I reffed for about 20 years and didn't have a problem with allowing coaches to coach. I agree every Tom Dick and Harry doesn't belong on the sidelines.

The sideline rule is ridiculous. Most officials care much more about what is going on on the field. There are some that are ate up with keeping coaches in the box instead of officiating the game, this will only make it worse.

I think it matters more what the other team is able to do. If both teams have numerous players going both ways then the fatigue factor would be equal. If one team is able to platoon then by the end of the game they will probably have the advantage.

Probably has more to do with the decline than coaching.
