sadmaninky1 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Who all is playing who tomorrow? And what times?
CoachBuckett Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Games start at 10am Teams are Frankfort Western Hills Dunbar N. Laurel East Jess. Lou. Southern
CoachBuckett Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Frankfort & Lou. South. - Frankfort out scored them 2- 0 (td's). FHS offense looked like a first scrimmage. Several fumbled snapps. FHS defense played solid. The played fast and hard. Only gave up a few big plays, but never gave up a score. Frankfort & East Jess. - FHS outscored east 4-0. FHS got it together on offense after moving some guys a round on the o-line. Frankfort & Dunbar - FHS outscored Dunbar 3-1. FHS moved the ball well at times. Conditioning played a roll late in the day with only 30 kids dressed. Overall FHS defense played well all day. JoJo Morgan and Deshon Floyd made some outstanding plays today. Offensively the Panthers struggled at times but nothing that a little more practice can't fix. Wideouts dropped to many balls. QB fumbled to many snaps. The o-line didn't stay on blocks enough. FHS issue early seems to be conditioning and depth.
CoachBuckett Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Western Hills look good the few plays I got to see. Their starters pass the eye test. Really got the work done in the weight room this off season. Was impressed with what little I got to see. Hopefully some one will add more info. IMO WHHS will win a lot of games this season.
Osceola5454 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Western Hills did some really good things at scrimmage. They beat Dunbar 3 TD to 0, beat Lou Southern 4 TD to 0, and tied North Laurel 1 TD - 1 TD. Typical first scrimmage with a few missed assignments and mistakes. Dylan Curry had a good day throwing the ball and would have had big day running the ball, but limited contact on QB (Curry is a LOAD at QB). Defense did well swarming to the ball and limited missed tackles. Offensive and defensive lines were able to control the line of scrimmage well - a good sign since Hills still without one starter due to injury. A good day for a Hills (3A) against two 6A schools and a 5A school. Depth and conditioning did hurt by the last scrimmage (North Laurel), but sure coaches will work on conditioning more until season. Other than the limited parking it was a great event - good viewing areas for the fans and great opportunity for teams to play different opponents from around the state.

CoachBuckett Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Did Tillman play? He was limping around Friday night. Tilman is out. May have torn ACL. Should know what status is Wednesday.
jvdfc Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Tilman is out. May have torn ACL. Should know what status is Wednesday. Wow. Good luck to this young man. Let's all hope it is not a torn ACL. I looked forward to seeing him play again this year. Keep us informed.
