The biggest thing IMO is margin of victory I suppose. Thats the only thing I can figure out. Margin of victory and to an extent SOS. Franklin Co. and Holmes are both legitimate top 10 teams. Holmes is definitly a top 5 team.

Holmes is the best team in the state, this poll is a joke

How does Holmes drop that low? Is the 9th that weak this year? Has Warren Central or Corbin played a tougher schedule that Holmes? How does LexCath get ahead of Holmes, when they have 4 more losses, including a loss to West Jessamine?

I don't think Holmes should be #1, but that is crazy.

Margin of victory. And some teams may have played a little tougher schedule. There is no doubt Holmes is bad underrated.

You are probably right. I guess the 9th's record against the rest of the state has been poor. Anyone else know what it is?

Interesting?

1. Holmes 81.1 (#1 Seed)

2. Cov. Holy Cross 70.1 (#3 seed)

3. Covington Catholic 67.6 (#4 seed)

4. Beechwood 67.5 (#2 Seed)

Seems like SOS is too big of a deal here.

I really don't get these ratings. For instance, in the 54th district, Buckhorn is rated a 60.6. 2 weeks ago, they were rated 61.0. They, then won 3 games the next week including a road win over a team that was rated higher by Cantrell. When the next ratings came out, they went up to only 61.1. This week, Buckhorn wins all 3 games by double figures and drops to 60.6. Anyone have any ideas?

Scott Co is the best team in the state, they are playing the best at this point in the season.

And that is about all that the ratings got right.

I believe margin of victory is weighted just a bit too heavy in the Cantrall ratings. Somewhere in the calculation, I would suspect there is a threshold...10 - 15 pts. (??), and under that it is not considered as a bonus point or something. However, there are many wins under 10 pts. where a team lead wire to wire, was never seriously threatened and gave up a couple of indifferent baskets at the end to avoid fouling.
