What about team serving? Most coaches make decisions based on what's best for the team not an individual player, and with the job Poynter has done there I will trust his judgement.

When Mr. Oder was there they were 11th in the state in testing. It has gone downhill since then.

No. I've thought that for several years, more so in basketball, because you're competing in the 11th region.

Merger comes up every so often, and so far FHS has been able to survive. I say you designate a football, baseball, and basketball school.

Coach Poynter would be a great hire for Paris. He understands overcoming obstacles and coaching at a small school. Like Coachbucket said if he gets it he needs to put Frankfort back on the schedule.

Shouldn't it be which state signs the most D1 prospects period. Then if you want to adjust according to state population you would get a better read. Of course the SEC and ACC are going to recruit these states harder, so the numbers will be high.

Paris is alot like Frankfort on the field, usually good skill kids with good speed, and when they get a group of good linemen they have good teams. Didn't know the coaches had so much off field issues to deal with, kinda explains why they have a hard time keeping a good coach. Good luck in finding the right fit. Paris will always hold a place in my heart as their 1973 team is wearing my state championship ring.

There was a post made about the passing league and Owens best athletes were playing summer baseball. I don't think summer baseball is the schools team, so that statement told me something about the dedication issues.

You are 100% correct, you can go and party all weekend, or you can learn alot. Pick out speakers that coach your position and head coaches that have had success and you can take some good things from clinics.

With their tradition I would think Mayfield would be a great place to start.

I know this is off subject, but I have to respond to the remark about coach Foley. Before he came to Frankfort High they had gone 27-82 in an eleven year period and made the playoffs one time. Since his arrival the number of kids playing is up, he is 44-17 in five years has not missed the playoffs and made it to the semi's this year, so I'm glad he's just a decent coach or there's no telling what FHS might be doing.

If it has a direct effect on the play, gives someone an unfair advantage or will get someone hurt call it. Other than that let 'em play ball.

If Sonny Collins hadn't been at UK alot more people would know how good Steve Compassi was. I would rank Roni second I've been fortunate enough to see them both play.

Played against Robinson and he wouldn't have been half as good without Clarence Trumbo. Best fullback I ever played against he has to make that list. Heck of a linebacker too.:thumb:
