I did get to see the first five games of the day.Bourbon and Harrison was a nice matchup. I was impressed with Bourbon's speed and tenacity on defense. They did an excellent job anticipating passes and shooting the gap. Harrison did not take care of the ball and needed to do better on the boards. Harrison was more impressive in their game against the Camels. They shot the ball better especially from behind the arc. Free(I think) hit some tightly contested threes. Campbell was somewhat lethargic but they will be fine. Montgomery looks to be in for a long season but not due to lack of effort and hustle. Yes, I am a homer but really do think the Wildcats were the most impressive of the teams I saw. Allen hit some looong range threes against Bourbon and was the typical Dontaie taking the ball to the basket. Walsh and Yelton were as assertive on offense as I have ever seen them. if that continues, the Cats will be a handful for most anybody on the schedule. It's just summer ball and much can change in six months. I wish the season started today.

I definitely agree that Harrison Co. will be much improved. Haven't seen Nicholas enough to make a judgment. If the site for the 38th district rotates as it has the last four years the Woodshed is indeed the site for 2017-18.

Not quite sure how to interpret your comment on Coach Belcher. He won the two previous district titles and was 1-2 in regional play those two years. The two years previous to Belcher taking over, PC had no district wins. Nobody wins them all and yes, you lose some that you shouldn't. PC will take its chances with Coach Belcher.

I was impressed with the 8th grade point guard for Robertson. Yes he had numerous turnovers, but he showed great heart, attitude, and effort. Yes he had trouble creating a shot, but I think he will make a fine high school point guard. Congrats to Paris who was just too athletic for the Black Devils.

CC's depth wears BC down and maybe very early. CC by 10-15. Now if CC shoots as they did in the first half against GRC last night, it is a totally different matter.

I thought the other game was called well also. What region are they from?

I'll give it a shot. Thought the officiating in this game was excellent. CC found an answer at the half time break for defending Philpot. Once GRC lost the lead early in the third quarter I felt they lost their composure which resulted in costly turnovers and I thought their shot selection suffered. I also agree that fatigue may have set in as CC's bench was a bit deeper.

Dontaie did try to do too much,but when teammates pass up shots that they have taken all season and made , what was he supposed to do. You can't be afraid to fail.

I believe PC wins ,but I also know that PC upset HC in past district games when HC clearly had the better team. The reverse of that scenario is possible, but I believe Coach Belcher and staff will not allow the Wildcats to overlook the Breds.

Is that the "Happy' Osborne that coached at Georgetown College?

Great to have Dontaie Allen back tonight. It was a nice bounce back team victory. Bourbon County and Paris next week and then the real season begins!

You certainly saw them on one of their poorest performances. Is the Ryle game the only game you have seen PC?

I would reluctantly agree that CC would win by that margin.

Just wish the PC kids had remembered how they played an earlier game in the season without Dontaie Allen. On another note, what a classy gesture by CC allowing Kirby of PC to enter the game on senior night and making a mostly uncontested shot. Kirby has been out all year with an injury.

Likewise! Just wish both teams had been at full strength. Win or lose, I wanted to see how the Wildcats matched up with the best team in the region.

You don't think Pendleton County is in sight? While it is true they are 0-3 against the teams mentioned with Paris and Campbell yet on the schedule, I believe it is a stretch to say they have no shot at all. JMO
