I may have missed it in another post, but who was the home team?

I believe that without playing those 2 seasons that they still were both drafted as baseball players in later(much later, but still drafted) rounds incase other avenues didnt pan out. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think this was about the time spring football started and the blue koolaid was being drank at HHS. Plus the baseball program was being taken to the cleaners. When Glaser was at HHS, I can still remember the scouts with the radar guns every time he pitched. One time in particular I can remember the scouts putting the guns away and heading to the cars. All of a sudden a certain sophomore started popping the leather off the bump. The guns came back out rather quickly, as it was D Smith slinging it. IMO the difference in these guys was that Brady was fun to watch, and had a great run with lots of success. But these other two were flat out DOMINANT at everything they did.

Gabe Schultz started and went 5 innings giving up 2 runs. Going into the 7th HHS was up 5-3. Conner tied the game at 5-5. Highlands led off the bottom of the seventh with a double by jake Whitford, who was 3-4 on the day, followed by an intentional walk and an unintentional walk. Junior jake Lester laid down his 2nd suicide squeeze of the day for the win.

Not only did they cancel it, they saved millions in gasoline to get all the way out there.

It will be at HHS tommorrow at 5 after the Birds beat Holmes today.

5-1 Ncc in top of 3rd. Schuh chased in the second after some nice hitting from the Breds.

Birds get a complete game by Senior pitcher Grant Duesing on Senior Day in Fort Thomas, striking out 8 and walking 3. Clutch hits by juniors Gabe Schultz and Quinten Murray accounted for the majority of the runs on the board. Highlands will be off this weekend before closing out the season with 3 games next week.

Sophmore Joey Cochran pitched 5 innings and junior Jake Liggett pitched the 6th. Senior Mitch Meyer and junior Gabe Schultz had good AB's for the Birds that produced the offense. Birds are off the rest of the week before going to Shelby County for a DH on Saturday.

Where you there early enough to see the right fielder's arm? What kind of speed did the runner on third have? Who was the next batter up? How many out were there at the time? If the catch made one out and if the guy gets gunned at the plate with the three hitter on deck, maybe it wasn't such a bad decision. Being down 2 runs with no one on base is tough to score runs. But I'm sure you thought about all that with the expertise you have shown in you previous two comments on here.... Oh and, go birds!

Highlands 10 Cooper 0 last night. "Baby Birds" are getting fun to watch with only 3 freshmen and the rest are seventh and eighth graders there is a light shining in fort thomas!

Junior Gabe Schultz went the distance for the Birds on the mound. Senior Mitch Meyer led the way at the plate with 2 doubles. Freshman catcher Luke Hennigan also came up with a big AB in which he laid down a successful suicide squeeze to break the 3-3 tie. Birds head to Bellevue tomorrow to take on the tigers.

Looks like the Birds came ready to play this one. Soph Joey Cochran pitched all five innings striking out 10. Many Birds had hits in the game including Q Murray, and G Schultz. Birds travel to Cincy St. X today to take on the Bombers.

This is the warmest march this region has ever seen. It's given coaches the chance to get kids out in the bullpen and stretch them out that way. Now, 125 may be pushing it but I dont know the kid or the situation, but not outta the relm of possibility.

Birds brushed off the opening day jitters to get a good win. Sophomore second baseman Evan Allen had opposite field gapper to score Jake Lester from second. Juniors Murray & Schultz combined to strike out 14 Camels in the win.

I think that 4 classes is plenty. What is the reward for the number of teams with sub .500 records making the playoffs? While you can say its for the kids, the amount of diservice that we are doing by the "everyone makes it" attitude is really bad. What do these kids work for if they skate into the playoffs? I guess its on the coaches to motivate and keep the attention of the kids, but anymore no one works for anything.
