I think Lynn Camps style will be a bit of a problem for the Jackets. I think Williamsburg wins, but I'll be surprised if its by more than 10. Not sure anyone has said anything about Lynn Camp's flag though....Did y'all seceed from the state and get your own flag...lol:banana: :banana: :banana:

Interesting tidbits from the article in the Whitley republican....Rosskopf leads Class A in rushing...Williamsburg's Frazier is second in passing, Hamlin 2nd in receiving, Moses 12th in receiving, and Root from the FB slot is 16th. Paper said the Jackets were the only team in the state with 3 receivers in top 20.

Very impressed with Mr. Deaton's arm, but more so with his decision making.

Lynn Camp may be having a tough year but this will be on of those rivalry games...physical and a dog fight.

I think Corbin is beginning to go through what we at Williamsburg see. Small schools, a really good class coming through every 3 to 5 years, and the fact kids have too many choices these days and one's high school memories aren't as tied to playing as they once were. Kinda sad as my fondest memories and closest friends are tied to my HS and College playing days.

Williamsburg has played both, albeit against Harlan both Hamlin and Moses were very limited by injury and Root was the only real threat(3TDs, 119 yards receiving). Somerset just has unbeleivable speed for a 1A team. Harlan is physical and has a pretty good defense, but i just don't think they can stretch the field offensively against the Jumpers. Somerset's d is improving and should get a few stops. I just don't know if Harlan can get equal stops unless Somerset turns the ball over, something they didn't do in the Williamsburg game. I'd have to say 42 for the Jumpers and 18 for the Dragons.

From Williamsburg: Thomas Frazier- QB- 6'1" 220 lbs. Rifle arm, solid runner, will get looks from 1AA possibly, NAIA for sure. Have heard he is interested in Western, but not sure of their interest level. Do know Cumbelands and Union are very interested. Chase Hamlin - WR - 6'1" 175 lbs. Terrific hands, runs good routes, possible 1AA, NAIA...future may actually be as a punter. Has had some interest from D1AA Wofford I've Heard. Led state in receivng last year, batlling injuries this year. Aaron Root - FB,LB - 5'8", 190 lbs. Nose for the ball, over 120 tackles this year after 164 last year. Catches the ball very well and has shown to be a bull running the ball, as well as surpising speed. In talking with his dad he is interested in Murray State, Campbellsville, U Cumberlands, and Union. If this kid was 6' tall he'd be a D1 guy.

Haven't seen Cawood, But was at the Cumberland - Williamsburg game last week. Cumberland has a pretty good team, FB #42 is a very nice player. I would think Cumberland has too much speed....Cumberland 32 - Cawood 14

Can't really speak to the region but heres a few from the district I follow: Ross Deaton and John Cole from Somerset (wow what alot of talent here!) Joe Rosskopf - Lynn Camp (Tough Hard running stud) Thomas Frazier and Aaron Root - Williamsburg (Frazier has a cannon arm, and Root is Hard nosed at FB and LB) The Lundy kid at Harlan (tough and smart) I wish I knew the FB's name at Evarts but this kid runs the trap as well as any HS kid I've seen in the past 25 years.

Williamsburg comes into this game wth all cylnders clicking on offense. Frazier is throwing well and making better reads, Hamlin and Jefferies, as well as Alex Patrick along with Aaron Root are making big catches, Root has turned out to be a bull running the ball and picking up tough yards. Lynn Camp has the incomparable Joe Rosskopf running, but sems limited to that one big threat. Defensively the Jackets seem to be struggling a bit, but Root has shown to be the playmaker on that side of the ball. Lynn Camp destroyed the Jackets last year. The Jackets really need a good win here as they head into the playoffs for momentum's sake. Do the Jackets pull off a revenge victory, or will Mitchell's Cats figure out a way to stop the High Flying Jacket O? I'll take Williamsburg 34-21 in this big senior night game.

I like the smaller kids that give everything to compete. Frank Sope (harlan grad) when he played at University of the Cumberlands was outstanding (5'6" 190 lbs. outside LB). Aaron Root from Williamsburg is a tad bigger (5'8', 185 Lbs.) and is a dadgum bull! Not sure whether he hits harder when at LB, or when he is running the ball.

Thomas Frazier was huge in Williamsburg's win over Cumberland. 24 of 33 pasiing for 352 yards, 170 yards rushing, 3 tds passing and 3 more rushing.

Williamsburg was so balanced on offense tonight. Darrell Woods was masterful in play calling against a very good Cumberland team. He had them off Balance all night. Frazier was huge with over 150 yards rushing and around 350 passing, Root had at least 80 yards rushing and ran like a man posessed on about 10 or so carries...he really has turned out to be a bull gettting tough yards and breaking tackles, Jefferies had another great night with over 100 yards receiving. Defensively, even though the Jackets gave up points( man that #42 for Cumberland runs the trap great), Root and Frazier played well. I heard the announcer calling Root's name on tackles all night. Great win for these kids, clinches a playoff spot! Now I'd love to see them beat the Campers and go back to Harlan with momentum!

Have to agree. Somerset too much speed, Lynn Camp one dimensional (although their one dimension is one of the best, if not the best RB in Single A)

John Cole - Somerset Chase Hamlin - Williamsburg

Williamsburg has Frazier, Hamlin, and Root all healthy. Chase had a huge game against Evarts, 11 catches, 2TD's, Steven Jefferies also was big with over 200 yards receiving, and Root had 2 key 4th quarter TD runs. Root was also his usual self on defense with 25 or so tackles...this kid gets it done week in and week out for the Jackets d. Will moses also seems to be recovering...alot of weapons for the Jackets coming together right now, but to win they must play better d and improve on the kicking game. I'll take Williamsburg in this tough game...by 10.

As I said terrible missed calls both ways, this was probably the worst officiating crew I have seen in a number of years.

Just got the official stats for Aaron Root against Harlan. 19 solo tackles, 8 assists, pass break up, and forced fumble, on offense 3 receptions from the full back position for 119 yards and 3 TDs, long reception of 66 yards. Hope this helps!

Part of the problem was with the official responsible for the play clock not having a watch on....I guess he was keeping track in his head, also numerous calls missed (both ways), especially a terrible pass interference call on a crossing route with a catchable ball.

For being right and the ref's being wrong....:lol:
