BluegrassPreps.com and the Kentucky News Network are once again working together to promote high school football in Kentucky.

We are currently taking nominations for the BGP/KNN player of the week! The player of the week can be from any team and is based on game performance from this weekend.

Please submit your nomination in this thread and provide as much background/stats/information as possible from their game this week.

Also, from host Al Mayo:

Hey folks--it's been great using all the nominees (last year) week after week on the show, and we'll continue to use them for the foreseeable future. I wanted to remind you of a couple things. When you nominate a player, I need his height, weight, and class designation (Freshman, Sophomore, Etc). I also need the stats to be correct. Just telling me it looked like he ran for over a hundred yards won't do it. Please include all pertinent numbers like carries, pass attempts, completions, yardage gained, number of tackles--you all understand what I need. Otherwise, I have to track these numbers down. Not that I mind doing the legwork, but I normally save this part of the show for last, so I can take nominees until the last possible hour, so I just don't have the time to look it all up. I'll usually pull the information from here by Thursday afternoon, so try to have your candidates nominated by about 2:00pm Thursdays. I couldn't be happier with the information you've all provided, and I'm looking forward to continuing our association with BGP!

Flash, didn't Lone Oak's Qb have another big night?

:thumb: :thumb: I second the nomination for Shawn Grimm. He definitely put on a show last night and is very deserving. I know he's a junior, but somone from JC needs to list his height and weight.

It's going to be hard to believe someone had a better night than this. 522 total yards and six touchdowns. Wow.

Yes, Corey Robinson passed for 329 yards & 4 Td's (16-25-2) & also rushed 13 times for 64 yards in a Lone Oak 33-0 victory over Reidland.

Madison Southern's Zach McGuire (Junior) did a great job as QB against Clay County .

He was 20 of 27 passing for 327 yards, 3 passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdowns and scored a 2 pt conversion. He had some rushing yards but not sure how many.

My vote goes to Shawn Grimm as well. He was an absolute man last night against my Tomcats. As for his height and weight i believe its 5'10" 180? Someone from JC might wanna check that for me.

I am not sure whether this set of stats is official, but the Ashland Daily Independent reported that Shawn Grim rushed for 303 yards on 25 attempts for 4 touchdowns. Grim's touchdowns came on rushes of 53, 75, 49 and 2 yards. The 53-yarder came only 18 seconds into the game, on the first play from scrimmage.

A Grim Picture (Ashland Daily Independent)

Frankfort's EJ Fields (Junior QB/DB) had over 190 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns in Frankfort's win over #1 ranked Danville. Pretty impressive.

My vote goes for Shawn Grimm also.

I will go with EJ Fields as well; played HUGE in a big game and beat the #1 ranked team in Class A soundly.
