  1. Raceland totally outplayed Ashland Ashland tonight and deservrd the win. Congrats to them. Ashland has a lot of work or they could easily start 0-4 with Belfry, Russell and W. Portsmouth. All 3 of these teams are going to be tough games.
  2. It was the Beach kid that was ejected. It appeared to me that he kicked an Ashland player at the end of a play that was still on the ground.
  3. Brandon Williams Philip Paris Both Ashland kids going to The University Of The Cumberlands
  4. You also forgot Brandon Williams of Ashland. I also believe the game is being played today because Brandon is in Louisville right now.
  5. You are correct and they let the head coach pick his own players.
  6. The lefty was Alex Tomlin. He is a senior and has pitched in about only 3 games. He atleast threw the ball over the plate and also got hurt by a few errors. I seen the comment in the paper this morning where Coach Wilcox stated he did not know why his team came out without any fire against one of the best teams in the region. How do you expect your kids to be fired up for this game when you are giving it away as a coach. Nothing against Rigsby and Slone because they will be be good player in a couple of years, but they did not need to be put in that situation. Its not going to help there confidence any. Ashlands left fielder went to the hospital after the game. He was diving for a flyball and pulled his groin and suffered a mild concusion. Remember him in your prayers and hope for a speedy recovery.
  7. The stats that were reported had Drew 201 for 382. I believe that is well over 50 %.
  8. That is correct and right now I would give the edge to Vanhoose.
  9. Drews field goal % was more like 52 %. Ashland played much tougher competition than the other 2. I believe Drew did tire towards the end while averaging over 30 minutes a game and playing out of position against the other teams 5 man. All 3 are excellent players and I believe which ever one works the hardest during the summer will have the advantage over the other 2.
  10. I agree and I think you have to list Cannoy as one of the most underrated players this year. Besides averaging about 8 pts and 5 boards this year he made all the hustle plays and his defense was excellent. Ashland will have alot to replace with him and Reliford gone next year. I also don't see Bonner replacing what Williams gave this year. I feel that Bonner is a year or 2 away.
  11. I was sitting at about the three pt line on the Ashland side. I did not see anything close to a foul on the last shot. As to if he got it off in time or not I couldn't tell. I know there was 4 seconds left when Elliott hit the last shot and I was just watching Matt bring it up the court and shoot and didn't pay too much attention to the clock. I thought the game was well officiated. It seems they were calling the touch fouls, but it was consistant for both teams.
  12. Congrats to Elliott on the win and good luck the rest of the way. They came back strong after being down by 9 at the half. Good luckto our 3 seniors, ADAM CANNOY, TYLER RELIFORD and BRANDON WILLIAMS the rest of the school year and what ever they end up doing in life. Its been enjoyable watching these 3 play. I'm still trying to figure what Flynn was thinking in the 2nd half. The 1st half we seemed to play as a team and everyone got involved and led by 9. In the 2nd half he went to his famous 4 low game plan and let Thomas penetrate one on one. This hasn't worked all year why did he think it would work tonite. When we do this the opposing teams know to double him after he gets to the lane. And with that Thomas who is a great kid and athlete was not on tonight.
  13. I agree and I also believe that he is the only one at Ashland this year.
  14. Their run and gun offense didn't wear us out in the regular season. Ashland won that matchup 77-68. Ashland played tough defense and didn't let Elliott get off any good looks from behind the arch until late. I look for Ashlands defense to be the difference in this one also with Ashland winning.
  15. Ashland matches up better against Elliott than they did against Fairview. Just stop the three like we did last time and we will be ok. Ashland by 8.
  16. Congrats to Fairview on the win. Excellent hard fought game by both teams. Ashland will bounce back from this and hopefully take the region crown. Black was the difference tonight. Ashland couldn't find anyone to stop him. Good luck to Fairview next week also.
  17. Ashland 56 Fairview 51 Ashland is on a roll right now and playing the best ball in the region.
  18. I believe he will be back, but who knows who he will be. :ylsuper:  :ylsuper:
  19. Congrats to the Cats on a win. It seemed everyone contributed tonight, especially with McDavid's offense off tonight and in foul trouble late.Thomas got back on track on the offensive end. Wilcox put up a big 3rd quarter and Cannoy had a big 4th. We still need to start hitting those free throws late. Just one question if anyone was counting. How many and 1's did Rose Hill have in the 4th. It seemed to me like there was 4 or 5. Even if they were questionable calls we can't afford those type of fouls late in the game.
  20. Good luck to To Russell's seniors the rest of the year and after graduation. I also think that it is an injustice for all the seniors not to start or play. Just one minute of playing time at the beginniing of the game for these seniors would not have made a difference in the game and would have given them their due respect.
  21. I look for Rose to start in place of Baldock. Matt will still be at the point like this year and Robbie the 2. Rose will fit better at the 3 than Baldock.
  22. I thought it was a great defensive effort by both teams. Neither team could get off a good shot early in their possessions.
  23. Ashland by12 Ashland is peaking at the right time and I think Rose Hill is a year away from contending.
