They're freshmen team had a good season this year going 16-2 i believe playing without their true big man Bonner. But then again Ashland has a good freshmen team ever since Flynn has been here it seems like, but nothing seems to come of it so who knows.

Their upper classmen will be really strong next year though with Wilcox and McDavid being seniors and Thomas as a junior. All that experience will start to show next year.

Give up bashing Flynn, Goliath. It is really getting old.

He forgot more basketball than most Ashland fans know.

In what way was i bashing Flynn? All i said was during his tenure, he seems to consistently have a good group of freshmen teams. I didn't once specify it was his fault that they dont pan out like expected.

Some feel thats the problem-He has forgotten a lot of basketball.

the 64th may have a surprise come time to hand out the district trophy. I wouldn't count Ashland or Rose Hill either one out. We all know that the big question is who will be in the championship game after the Fairview/Boyd county game. This one is way up for grabs.

I will however make a prediction(not that I'll even get close but just a gut feeling): Ashland/Fairview-Championship game.

I did some checking ,the freshman won 19 lost 2. Teams they beat : Ironton,BC,Greenup,Wheelersburg,Springvalley,Rockhill,East and Westcarter,Russell,Sheldon Clark,Rowan Co.

This season is not over and the way they have been playing this season could end up being bright =). But for the future McDavid, Wilcox, and Thomas returning has to be a bright spot.

Ashland has a good returning nucleus of McDavid, Thomas, and Wilcox. Ashland does have a group of really good freshman. There are 8 or 9 players on the team without much drop off from the starters to the bench. Ryan Bonner should provide a nice post presence to help McDavid on the boards. Hopefully seniors Jeremy Rose and Tyler Salyer can be steady contributors, both have shown a nice touch from the outside. Other sophmore contributors could be Matt Rowe who has great hands, and is automatic inside. He reminds me of a smaller Kyle Umberger. Cody Bowling has a nice shooting touch from 3 that could compliment Wilcox, and PG John Baldock may also contribute, along with Drew McDavids younger brother Daniel, who also had some great games this year.

The future at Ashland is always bright! They have a great coach and they always have a lot of good athletes. You might not always like Flynn's style but he has a great program and they always win. It seems like they are always in the finals of the 16th. I wouldn't expect this year to be any different.

Although they don't have a winning record this year.

The only wins that count are in the championship. Who cares if you win 30 games in the regular season if you dont win any championships.

Although they don't have a winning record this year.

No team around here would have a better record than Ashland if they played the same schedule.

Very good point.

Win/Loss records can be very deceiving. Since Ashland is the winningest basketball program in the state I would venture a guess that our season of winning records far out number our seasons with losing records. I would rather be 13-14 or whatever our record is than be 20-7 beating up on nobody teams. With a tough schedule you really find out what you are made of. It has obviously paid dividends with Ashland this season.
