Is Ashlands Future Bright?

Featured Replies

Very good point about scheduling....agter that schedule, everything else is downhill. And a point about the freshman team..i saw them a couple of times, and Bonner has a LOT of work to do to contribute on the varsity level, as do most freshmen. But I wouldn't count on big things from him for a couple of years at best.

Next years starting line up for your Ashalnd Tomcats

PG- John Baldock(solid PG)

SG-Thomas (number one scorer)

SF-Wilcox (great shooter)

PF McDavid (next years Co-POY)

C-Bonner (they have no one else big)

With contrubutions from Rose, Salyer, and Rowe,

Young but very athletic.. Good luck T-Cats

I would love to see Baldock start at PG! But I think that may be pushing it a little. I think you may see Thomas stay at the point, but if he plays the 2 senior Tyler Salyer may see some time at PG.

I look for Rose to start in place of Baldock. Matt will still be at the point like this year and Robbie the 2. Rose will fit better at the 3 than Baldock.

Your probably right.. I just like that Baldock kid; but Rose can flat out light it up from beyond the arc

Light what up?

How about Limpache and Coleman?

I agree, Baldock is top notch. He was the Elk's hoop shoot free throw state champion a few years back I think.

I think Coleman can contribute, Im not so sure about Limpach right now. But he has plenty of time to grow into a good player.

No way Baldock starts. It will be like this:

PG- Matt Thomas

SG- Tyler Salyer

F- Rob Wilcox

F- Drew McDavid

C- Tossup at this point, you could see up to 4 people in this spot next year.

At this point, I would give it to Bonner at the C.

Your right there is probably no way baldock starts. but he is such a solid PG. I got to see him play some JV and Freshman (in the AIT) he is not a big scorer he is just a solid PG. I doubt salyer will start over Rose

Baldock is very solid. Handles the ball well, and can shoot. But the best part of his game is his decision making. He runs the offense well, and gives his teammates the ball in a position to score. He is a very smart basketball player. Not to mention he did a very admirable job QB'ing Ashland freshman football team after Daniel McDavid missed the rest of the season with a concussion.

I didnt know Bladock played pg ,I saw them play twice this year and Bowling ran the pg most of the game. And your right (GodisAtomcat) he was lighting it up from 3 pt land.

Thomas

Wilcox

Coleman/Rose

McDavid

Bonner/Limpach

Sayler will backup for the 1-2

Ashland will need some strength and size next season in order to make a serious run.

Flynn loves how Coleman plays the 3 and is an inside and out player. He may rap up the 3 spot.

Baldock and Bowling will neither see any "game time" next season, they will be important to the JV team.

But its brightens the future up
