  1. Yeah, ZB23, they were starters and now they are quitters. They didn't quit on Buddy, they quit on their team, on their school, and on themselves!!! I think that kids today have no heart and they do NOT want to work hard and EARN their playing time. They want it handed to them, because they started in middle school and they started on the freshmen team. JMI
  2. Congrats to Glasgow and Coach Hall. Do you have any stats?
  3. Who's Hornbuckle and what grade is he in ?
  4. Ward is probably the most improved ball player that I have ever seen. She has worked extra hard from her freshmen year to her senior year and she deserves every award and honor that she gets. Congrats to Laisha and to Matt Thomas for making Ashland proud of you both.
  5. Just had a phone call to inform me that Matt made the All -Tournament team and was voted the Best Defender. I believe that Matt has won that award 3 out of 5 years and the last two in a row. Way to go Matt !!! I'm really PROUD of you !!!
  6. Congrats to Elliot County ! Now go to Rupp and represent the 16th well !!
  7. Matt Thomas from Ashland was invited, but he's playing the state East/West game and can't do both.
  8. You are correct NCC06, #30, Matt Thomas did not play much in 2nd half. NCC really did a good job with their help defence on Thomas. Ashland could not throw it in the ocean last night. Thomas had 15 of their 30 points and no one else could even make a layup. It was a poor showing by the Tomcats, to say the least. Hopefully, we'll get back on stride Tuesday.
  9. Props to Matt Thomas from Ashland for making the team. We are very proud of you.
  10. Can someone give me directions to Deming from Ashland please ?
  11. Euton had a bad game, so what. Every player has them. He'll be just fine. Keep your head up Blondie and play hard.
  12. Nice Poll, Cubby. But, mhighfield, I don't think that the rest of the region is going to give it to Elliott Co. without a fight. JMO.
  13. Matt dislocated his left pinkie finger. Will probably miss at least a week, if no ligiament damage.
  14. I'm not going to get on here and complain about not getting calls at home. I'm going to complain about 50, count'em, 50 personnel fouls called in the Ashland/Boyd Co. game last night. It was hard for either team to find their rhythm last night. The 16th region officials need to realize that most people didn't come to watch them, but to watch the kids play. I believe that is one of the reasons that the 16th doesn't do well when they play out of our region. Most of the Lexington-Louisville-Northern KY officials let you play. They don't call all of the little ticky-tack fouls that are called in the 16th region. JMHO.
  15. 1.- Matt Thomas- Best all around athlete and a lock down defender. 2.-Dakota Euton- Hey, he's 6'8" and can shoot the three ball. 3.Ethan Faulkner- Best point guard in the region. Elliot goes thru him. 4.Jonathon Ferguson-Best scorer, but needs to stay on his feet more. 5.Chad Jackson- IF he ever develops a mid-range jumper, will move to #1. 6.Timmy Knipp- The 6'5" (and still growing) freshman "Phenom". 7.Cameron Hall- You will see the results of his summer playing with Derek Smith. 8.Justin Selby- Playing football and Zornes on the bench will help the Big-guy. 9.Ryan Bonner- Buddy Biggs on the bench has and will do wonders for "Young Bonner" 10. a-Jacob Sparks- The Rams do it all guy. Will have to step up and be a leader. 10. b-Jacob Ferguson- Russell only experinced player. Can shoot the rock.
  16. First of all, I was there, and I know for a FACT that Coach Hart did not QUIT coaching !!! Secondly, he was stating FACTS about the classification issue. And last, but not least, my son has played for Coach Hart the last four years and he has nothing but the utmost RESPECT for Coach Hart. Remember the old saying: Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it!!!
  17. James "Buddy" Biggs will be one of the Best to coach in the 16th, IMO.
  18. Congrats to J.Smart. I had the pleasure of meeting Jordan and his parents this summer and he is a really great young man to be around and one heck of an outside shooter. He will do well at Vandy.
  19. Thanks LRCW. We in the Thomas camp are really proud of Matthew. He has not only represented the Tomcats well, but he also has made everyone in his Family proud. A fine young man that anyone would be proud to call Son.
