Despite the lopsied loss Matt Thomas had another great game in his last game as a football Tomcat. I hate to see this young man's Tomcat career come to an end, but he has provided Ashland fans with plenty of thrills through out his great career. I remember as a kid being in awe of his dad Gary when he played for Ashland. Matt definitely carried on the family tradition. In case some of you didn't read it, here's a great story on Matt from the Daily Independent. Matt has always been a great kid, always very polite and always smiling. I wish him nothing but the best.

Since the Ashland-Johnson Central thread was closed, I decided to give this post it's own thread.

Thanks LRCW. We in the Thomas camp are really proud of Matthew. He has not only represented the Tomcats well, but he also has made everyone in his Family proud. A fine young man that anyone would be proud to call Son.

Matt Thomas is a prime example of what a high school student/athlete is about. He excells both on the field and in the classroom and always carries himself with class.

Any program would be fortunate to have a young man like Matt Thomas.

Looking forward to watching him showcase his talents with the roundball.

An absolutely terrific athlete and person! Matt has represented himself, his family, and Ashland perfectly. I cant remember a player who played nearly every varsity snap for 4 years. Matt finished his Tomcat career in the top 5 all-time in rushing yards, total yards, and TD's. Im sure Matt will finish in the top 5 all-time scorers in Tomcat basketball history also. Without a doubt and truly great Tomcat.

Seems like one heck of a athlete. Are there any schools looking at him ?

I dont think any major colleges are but I think he will persue the round ball over football.

Very well manned kid and a good role model.

I know Clemson was interested, as well as Wake Forest.

I'll second that;)

Matt Thomas is a fine young man and competitor. Of course he's had some help along the way from his family shaping him into what he is today. That being said, the sky is the limit of this kid and there is no doubt in my mind that Matt will achieve anything he sets his mind to:ylsuper:
