  1. Stir the pot. That has nothing to do with this. Are you insinuating there is a strain between members of the coaching staff as well? This is how irresponsible rumors get started.
  2. I don't think anybody should quit. But that is a personal choice. If they comeback it is up to the coach and depends upon the situation with each individual. The specifics are something that none of us know but alot of people want to jump to conclusions about.
  3. I don't have any bandwagon to jump on. I pull for Russell in every sport, up or down year doesn't matter. And I don't begrudge Raceland because they beat Russell in basketball either. Alot of teams will beat them twice this year. Raceland has a fine team this year. But I believe Rose hill will have 5 on the court as well. Its just that their two stars are better than anyone else in the region. That IMO gives them an advantage. If you want something to hang your hat on I do think that Raceland is better than Ashland and one of the top 5 teams in the region.
  4. I'm probably one of the few that sits in the middle on this. The biggest problem to me seems to be the division between the two sides that has polarized the basketball program. Its a sport and supposed to be fun and teach lessons to the kids that want to play it. The only lesson being taught right now is how to divide a community. I think both sides need to rebuild a few bridges that have been burned. I hope they can.
  5. Yes but the other 6 are not as good as the first 2. And since there only five on the floor I think the advantage still goes to Rose Hill.
  6. 2 individuals will beat 1 individual at least 7 out of 10 times. I believe that will be what we see at RH tomorrow night. I give Ashland a edge in the coaching department. That may even things out. But talent wise. if you take Thomas from Ashland then they are not very good at all. As for Raceland they are well coached and Boyles is a very good player. Sparks has size and is versatile. But neither are as talented as the duo at RH. Thats just my opinion. We will see how things play out.
  7. Not anger. Just keeping the facts straight. These two players played as much if not more minutes than anybody. There may be alot of reasons they quit but playing time was not one of them. Some seemed to want to talk if it was so I was just making sure they had at least some of the facts.
  8. I agree. I think they should be ahead of West Carter, Ashland and Raceland.
  9. I also think East Carter is the second best team in the 16th region. Still a long way from first though. Elliott Co by 20+
  10. You are correct. Playing time was not the issue with these players.
  11. It is a shame. Both are good kids. The reasons are theirs alone. I would have liked to seen them stick it out but that was not their choice. I also like coach Dodd and think he really does know his basketball and how to teach the game. I agree Cubster. I don't think its right to rush to judgement about any party involved.
  12. I was at the school earlier and saw the team comming into the gym. If any of this is true than I don't think they left on behalf of their classmates. The other seniors were there.
  13. No chance Blazer. Nobody in the 16th region is in the ball park. No matter how many A's
  14. No its not. But the KY/TN Allstar game would have been better at smaller venue as well. The crowds were not that big and all of those empty seats just took away from the atmosphere. I think that is all that was being said. Its a good thing that people have gotten together and organized games like this. Whether it is a replacement for the bigger game or not.
