^ I don't think anybody knows who will start except for Ferguson. Russell will struggle this year. I don't think anybody would deny that. However they will still be well coached and play tough defense. I don't think too many teams in the 16th region will enjoy playing them. It will be a grind.

If you did you would have seen Besides Abrams, Bailey, Bates and Tyler Jones that Fosson, Rice, Travis Jones (not Tyler), Sparks, Rogers, and Stapleton all carried the ball at least once in the first half. The Wing T can be difficult to defend for teams that havn't seen it before. Plays that look the same may be different. Discipline on defense is a must. Russell has shown the ability to pass if needed but have been a very basic running team thus far. Russell's defense will be the deciding factor in this game IMO. They have had their moments but been inconsistant.

I agree that Britt is a good reciever. My only point was the stats may be a little inflated because of the style of offense and circumstances where he has played agaist other teams subs. We must have been watching different games though. The JV came in when it was 28-00 with 2:16 left in the 1st quarter. The starting offense did come back and play 2 series in the second quarter after Lewis scored. The starters also did come back in and play the first offensive and first defensive series of the 3rd quarter.

They sound alot like this Russell team.

I watched. Russell's first team defense didn't even play one quarter before the JV came in. If you are going to spread the field and throw the ball that much it will lead to mistakes. The kids from Lewis County play with alot of heart. I would say alot of their problems are due to lack of depth. As for Britt, he is a VERY GOOD reciever. His stats may be slightly skewed though due to the fast break offense and the fact that due to the low number of players Lewis County has on the team, he has played alot of minutes against the subs from some other teams.

Listen for a new sideline reporter this week for the Russell radio broadcast. MK

Britt has nice hands and is a good reciever. The only thing is alot of those yards against Russell came against the JV and Freshmen. When the starters were in they strictly backed off and played a soft zone. I would assume that the same was the case with Mason, Bath and Fairview.
