Russell is a little down compared to teams in the past few years. With the blind draw in the 63rd district they may surprise a few people and make it to Morehead.

Russell will struggle this year. Ferguson is talented but he is really the only proven player. This will be a rebuilding year.

You are right about blind draw and remember Russell has been the school trying to get this district to seed for a while now.

I think "luck" changed when Vanhoose went down in the district with a season ending injury.

Absolutely true. The only luck involved in Russell's season last year was bad luck. VanHoose's injury, in reality, ended their seson.

 

Russell, both the boys and the girls, will be fine this coming season.

In fine as far as the boys you are looking at 10 wins max IMO, the have no experience an a non stellar JV from last year

Russell lost a key to this year's team when Seth Harvey went back to St. X. I think Ferguson will have to carry most of the scoring load for the Devils. If Micheal Mabery would gain some muscle and some confidence, he could be a very good HS player. He desparately needs weight and muscle. Other than that someone for the Devils will need to step up this year and contribute. You never know who may transfer in to Marv's Gym. LOL!!! You never know!!!

As good as Russell's luck has been? What? I think Russell had the worst luck of anyone last year considering their star player went down with a season-ending injury in the districts.

In 2006 they were the luckiest team in IMO to make it to the sweet 16 in 20 years, every break and call went their way, so Karma caught up with them last year
