What team is a Darkhorse to win your Region?

Featured Replies

What teams across the State are sleeper or darkhorse teams to win some regions?

16th Region

I'll say Rose Hill very good talent.

Ashland has a good coach and he knows how to win.

What does everyone else think?

10th Region - Campbell Co keeps getting better and better. Their defense will give them an outside shot come tournament time.

*the dark horses in the 10th are all real long shots*

I agree. That's the Region I know the most about but I agree CC is getting alot better. Mont Co is very good too. These two teams along with Clark Co are the 10th Region sleepers.

I agree I think Campbell will only get better.

I think you also have to put Bath Co. into the conversation here, they're playing really well right now. However, anyone other than Elliott will not only be a darkhorse, but a huge longshot as well.

East carter is always a team that can pull off an upset or two, this team can not be overlooked

Nobody in the 16th region has a shot against Elliott County. The second best team may be East Carter. There is a huge disparity between Elliott County and everybody else.

The 12th Region is extremely wide open after Lincoln County. A strong case could be made for McCreary Central and West Jessamine, along with possibly Wayne County, Boyle County, Mercer County, Somerset and Pulaski County, if they get the right draw.

9th darkhorse??????

after top picks of Holmes, Highlands, CovCath I think you go with Boone Co., Newport Central Catholic or Holy Cross!!!

It is crazy to say that nobody has a shot against Elliott. The Rose Hill team in 02-03 was much better than this Elliott Co. team and everyone was saying that noboby had a shot and Ashland beat them in the district finals. That team had O.J. Mayo, Marcus Dawson, Mark King, Zach Gillum, and a bunch of good role players. I agree that Elliott is the best team, but they are a few teams in the region that can beat them.

So Rose Hill went from one of the top two teams in the beginning of the season to a dark horse now?

I guess so....:sssh:

9TH region there are 4-6 better than ave teams, hard to pick dark horse. If I was to pick, it would be Boone Co.

In the 10th I'd have to say Clark County. They're flying a little under the radar in the 10th, especially after a loss to Montgomery County, but they're a lot better than they were at the beginning of the year.

In the 13th Corbin and Cumberland are the clear cut favorites but don't sleep on Jackson Co. or South Laurel. And if North Laurel's Josh Siedel stays hot they could have an outside chance.
